The company is focused on small businesses (ideal clients are small offices of 3 – 5 employees), law firms, chiropractors, and interior designers. Below is our interview with IT Consultant and BH Tech Connection Owner, Brady Helkenn:

Q: Brady, could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to BH Tech Connection?

A: BH Tech Connection is changing the way you receive IT Consulting services. The typical approach to IT Consulting is to collect 20-30 clients as a solo practitioner of IT, then turn away new clients when capacity is reached. We do something different; we put in systems to add more IT Consultants as the business grows to match demand, who are all held to the same standard of excellent customer service and technical ability. This allows us to provide consistently excellent service to all clients without needing to turn them away.

Q: Who is your ideal customer and why?

A: Our ideal clients are small offices of 3 – 5 employees. We have certain verticals we focus our marketing efforts on, such as law firms, chiropractors, and interior designers, but our target demographic is focused on 1 – 10 people per company, including solo entrepreneurs working out of their home office.

Q: Could you tell us something more about your pricing?

A: Our hourly rate is set at 100 / hour. Getting services from the owner directly is an option, but at a markup. When possible, we like to provide a quote for services, usually when the work is relatively common.

In addition to our hourly rate for ad hoc, one-time work, we also specialize in Preventative Maintenance services, which ranges in price based on the company size from 50 – 400 / month.

Q: What can we expect form BH Tech Connection in the next year?

A: We have a lot of growth planned. At this time, we consist of 2 IT Consultants and a couple of Maintenance Specialists. By this time next year, we plan to reach 5 or more IT Consultants, and likely as many Maintenance Specialists. In addition to our growth plans, we also have plans to sponsor local events for women and minorities pursuing tech careers. Stay tuned for announcements in the next month or two.

Q: How would you convince the reader to start using your services?

A: Delegation is one piece, but eliminating worry, aggravation, and stress is the biggest reason to hire us. We as IT Consultants know better than to handle our own payroll from scratch, for example; who wants to worry whether we’re pulling taxes out appropriately during payroll? Everyone has a specialty, and there’s very few people in our experience who specialize in their computers. Let us help, even if it’s simply to offer advice.
