Urban transit and transportation hubs often have limited space to expand, the pressure on authorities to balance security with a good traveler experience constantly grows. This leads to significant bottlenecks, with delays that frustrate travelers. Q: What makes BLIP Systems a good choice? Tell us something more about your product offerings?

A: BlipTrack measures queue time, capacity and throughput, and works by placing sensors at strategic points in a specified area. The sensors detects Wi-Fi or Bluetooth devices, such as mobile phones and tablets. By re-identifying devices from multiple sensors, the travel times, dwell times and movement patterns become available.

The BlipTrack solution consists of various high-tech sensors, a sophisticated analysis platform and a secure web-based user-interface with compelling visualizations and real-time insights. The solution measures and predicts movements of people and vehicles. It allow stakeholders in various verticals, including airports, road traffic, train stations, ports, ski resorts, amusement parks and more, to reduce queue and commuting times, optimize staff resources and planning, and improve the traveler experience and retail.

With visualized data, from multiple sources, accessible from a single interface, decision-makers are provided with all the necessary tools to easily interpret, maintain and optimize all aspects of an operation. With more than 5000 units deployed worldwide, BlipTrack has already proven itself to be an effective solution for measuring travel times, queues and flow.

Q: What are your plans for next six months?

A: To expand our newest airport modules, which allow managers to predict, forecast and plan passenger appearances, queue wait times and capacity.

Q: What advantage does BLIP Systems have over its competitors?

A: BlipTrack is an end-to-end solution with both hardware to measure and the software to analyze. The sensors are easily mounted and connected via PoE, 3G and Wi-Fi. Once mounted, the sensors require no maintenance. The sensors are passive and do not interfere with existing WiFi networks. The solution provides reporting capabilities with live and historical information in a web-based, intuitive user interface with graphs and dashboard views. The Platform enables data extraction in any combination, exportable in various formats, allowing quick and efficient integration into existing management systems. In addition, BlipTrack allow airports to monitor the flow of the passengers throughout the airport, from curb to gate.

As the sensors automatically, and without interaction from the travelers, detects mobile devices with enabled Bluetooth or WiFi, the penetration rate is significantly higher (40%) than with iBeacons (1%). In order for iBeacons to work as a tool to optimize queue and monitor flow, the technology require that passengers downloads a mobile app. However, recent studies show that very few travelers downloads these apps, which significantly affects the penetration rate negatively, in order to provide trustworthy queue and flow data.

The solution also enables managers to provide optimum guest service by displaying wait times on signs, websites and mobile applications, allowing passengers to reduce frustration by better utilizing wait times or selecting a faster-moving queue.
