Samir JaverQ: What is Do?

A: Do helps run productive meetings, and is on a mission to make work something people love. Our vision is for people to spend their time at work in a meaningful, productive, and efficient way, helping them enjoy what they’re doing at work. We believe many people waste much of their lives working on things they don’t care about, talking about things that don’t matter, and thinking about ways they can leave the office sooner. We have focused on the psychology and sociology of meetings to finally make it easy to have a productive meeting. It’s not just about the technology, in our eyes.

Q: How does it work?

A: You sign up with Google, Office 365, or your work email. Do automatically pulls in all your existing calendar events into a beautiful, endless scrolling timeline with all your past and upcoming meetings. Every morning, you also get a daily email outlining all your upcoming meetings for the day. Before a meeting starts, you can set and share an agenda with your coworkers, so they know exactly what will be discussed beforehand, ensuring everyone is on the same page. When the meeting begins, all the participants can take collaborative real-time notes on the meeting page. They can mark followups and outcomes, assign tasks by @ mentioning people, upload files, and more. The file canvas prevents you from having to scramble through files or old e-mails looking for presentations, documents, and spreadsheets. When the meeting concludes, the tap of a button sends out the meeting summary to all the meeting attendees via email. You can also export the minutes to Evernote. You can track all your past takeaways and outcomes in the hub, which is an archive of all your past meetings. Moreover, you can set recurring agendas (or pin agenda items to all future meetings), copy agenda items and notes over to future meetings, and more.

Q: You’ve recently announced a new workforce analytics product – Do Personal Insights, tell us something more?

A: We believe that time is your most valuable asset. We know that here at Do, and we’re determined to help you spend your time efficiently and effectively. This new product of ours provides users with a weekly, detailed email outlining how they spent their time, and who they spent it with. The email provides helpful suggestions as well as personalized advice on how to make their time spent more productive. Along with that, it also shows you a breakdown of your meeting types – which were recurring, internal, 1-on 1’s, etc. This whole summary tells you about hours and energy you’re spending in meetings, along with personalized advice on how to be more productive. With Insights, we hope users will be able to supercharge their productivity and maximize their workflow to get the optimal amount of things done, through the efficiency of their time. For us, it’s all about balance – finding the right amount of meetings, creative work, personal time, and more. Thus, our new Do Personal Insights product will allow individuals of all types to really understand how they’re spending their time. Specifically, we want to make sure they’re allocating the right amount of time across meetings, creative work, personal time, and more. It’s all about the right balance to be productive and maintain work-life balance.

Q: Tell us something more about your partnership with Microsoft and their Office 365 suite?

A: We worked very closely with Microsoft and the Office 365 team on the Do integration with them. It has already led to dramatic growth in our user base and many happy Microsoft Office 365 users. There are lots more product integrations coming, including an Outlook integration with email inboxes and Do.com.

Q: Do you have any new features in the pipeline?

A: We are investing a lot in new features all the time, including new integrations with popular services like Slack and Dropbox, a more robust core product, and brand new mobile apps.
