Here is our recent interview with David Lee, Founder of DNA Dezign.
Q: Could you tell us what is Smart Dresser and how does it work?
A: Smart Dresser is a mobile virtual dressing room app which lets fashion lovers visualise how they will look in clothing items and accessories. The user swipes through the available clothing and chooses items to try on which are then overlaid onto their picture. With simple touch gestures, they can then manipulate the clothing to ‘fit’ their pose. Each item is also linked to the retailer’s product page so it’s really easy to get more information and make purchases via the app.

Q: Is it possible for businesses to use it?
A: Most definitely. One of our aims is to give fashion retailers an easy and affordable way to provide the customary changing room experience in a digital and more importantly, mobile environment. We provide a white labelled app solution helping them to drive sales and increase consumer confidence. Some of the sectors we think it can be particularly useful for are the Bridal, dress rental and independent designer sectors, amongst others.
Q: Who do you see as your primary target audience?
A: The app is primarily aimed at female fashion lovers who shop for clothes online and would love to visualise how garments look on them.

Q: How would you convince the reader to start using Smart Dresser?
A: The app is really very easy and fun to use. If you hate the hassle of a real changing room or don’t have the time to hit the shops, Smart Dresser can help you save time and energy. You can literally ‘try on’ hundreds of clothing items in minutes, wherever you happen to be. Seeing the clothing on you instead of on someone else or a mannequin can help you to cement your purchase decisions. Also, we are hoping that the app will help users discover lesser known, but equally impressive retailers and designers.
For retailers, As well as contributing to lower return rates, we seek to lower the barrier to entry to the mobile market. With 2/3 of online search now being done on a mobile device, we believe that it is absolutely necessary for retailers to have a mobile presence, however, app development can be quite expensive.
