Q: Carlos, how would you describe iContainers in your own words?
A: iContainers is the Expedia for freight forwarding. Since our inception, we have fought against price opacity and the need for middlemen in the shipping industry through our easy-to-use online platform that provides a one-stop-shop for all shipping needs.

Q: What are your key features?
A: We offer a powerful quotation engine that allows users to obtain and compare rates in less than 15 seconds. Users can then book and track their shipment directly on our platform where they can also manage their settings and required documentation, access past and current bookings, and monitor the evolution of their shipping activity on iContainers.

Q: What’s the best thing about iContainers that people might not know about?
A: iContainers serves more than 500,000 ocean trade routes to over 1,200 global destinations with an option for door-to-door pickup to/from the United States, Spain, China, Taiwan and UAE – so businesses can save time, money and improve their bottom line. From booking to customs, our platform allows users to browse options for freight services, shipping rates, and scheduling times, so our customers no longer have to rely on any freight forwarders or middlemen.
Q: You’ve recently announced a $6.7 million series C funding round; what are your plans?
A: Our plan is to bring in talented people to help us to develop our product and expand our operations worldwide. We are planning to open a new office in northern Europe in Q2. Additionally, we are looking for new partners in North and South America to provide a global solution for shipping to and from the America’s.

Q: What’s the achievement iContainers is most proud of?
A: iContainers is modernizing an antiquated, fragmented industry that is still being conducted with pen and paper by injecting technology to automate the logistics process through a seamless online interface. In short, we’re on a mission to make the international trade industry more transparent and turnkey.
