Q: How would you describe IKINDI in your own words?
A: At IKINDI, it’s all about investment data and how it flows. Our rules-based process and data engine ensure it’s validated at the source and destination. Asset management companies have complex, multi-sourced data and disparate systems. The ability to provide accurate and timely data seems to only grow in complexity due to regulatory mandates, risk and client reporting requirements, portfolio attribution and analytics, and new asset classes.
IKINDI’s quality rules-based processes — agnostic to investment product type, system, data source and vendor — dictate data integrity, timeliness and enrichment. This is our KTier™ for enterprise data management in the cloud. We like to refer to our rules-based process and data engine as an Intelligent Investment Data Highway.
Q: You’ve recently announced 5-Step FinTech Solution Framework for Barclays POINT; tell us something more?
A: The majority of Fixed Income Asset Managers use Barclays POINT with varying degrees for Performance & Attribution, Portfolio Construction/Modeling, Risk Management and Client Reporting. The IKINDI 5-Step Solution Framework for Barclays POINT is in response to Bloomberg’s acquisition of Barclays Risk Analytics and Index Solutions Business (BRAIS), which includes POINT. Recent surveys indicate that Barclays POINT users were blindsided by the planned retirement of the platform with a short timeframe of just 18 months.

A: Providing a solution that solves a relentless data validation requirement, as it flows through the environments, with all of its complexities and nuances is the critical value IKINDI offers with KTier™. This system has enabled key Fixed Income clients to optimize their use of POINT for Performance, Attribution & Analytics, and Risk & Compliance reporting. It has helped rescue outsourcing projects that were being badly delayed due to prolonged and continuing data differences in the parallel stage, and has also enabled ground-breaking Enterprise-Class software solutions to be successfully rolled out.

Q: What are your plans for next six months?
A: Expand the breadth and deployment of KTier™ in terms of out-of-the-box vendor adaptors and client rollout for the public markets. Continue to expand the asset classes support by KTier™ for the private markets including Real Estate and alternatives.

Q: What are some things about IKINDI that people might not know about it ?
A: IKINDI was recently shortlisted for the sixth annual FTF News 2016 Technology Innovation Awards in the “Best Buy-Side Operations Solution” category. Award recipient will be announced in April.
I was recently named to the board of OSCRE, a corporate member-based organization focused on the development and implementation of global real estate standards for data exchange. Our experience in fintech cloud data management for the asset management industry similarly addresses the manual and siloed approach to data management of the past. We are committed to the development of next generation OSCRE standards that will benefit real estate investments industry clients with more efficient, streamlined, scalable and affordable data management and exchange.
