Kdan Mobile Announces Its Global Breakthrough – 60 Million Downloads Worldwide

Listen to this article

Kdan Mobile is a software company specializing in mobile app development and online services that help users to better leverage their creativity. Kdan’s flagship apps are now available on all major platforms, including Apple’s App Store, Google Play and Windows Marketplace. The company recently exceeded a 60 million download milestone. To learn more we sat down with Kenny Su, Founder and CEO of Kdan Mobile:

KennySu

Q: Kenny, you have recently exceeded a 60 million download milestone; could you tell us something more?

A: This is of course an incredible achievement and we are thrilled to be announcing this milestone. We have users around the globe, of which 39% are in North America, 22% in Asia, 8% in Central and South America and 5% in Africa. Our Asian market has been growing in the past year, especially in China and Japan. It is our goal to draw a new image in the Asian market, putting more focus on the Android and Windows platforms. This slight shift in direction will not affect our efforts in enhancing our iOS products, but instead, it is an expansion to our available services. We already have 1.5 million paid members and it all started with our early focus on iOS users. But in the past year, we have gained a 5 times increase in Android users, mostly within Asia. This is the result of our increasing efforts in providing more frequent Android and Windows updates. As we’ve become a full SaaS provider, we’re hoping to achieve 100 million downloads by the end of 2016.

Q: Could you provide more information about the US $1.2 million in pre-Series A fundraising that was raised?

A: Sure. The main investors in the pre-Series A fundraising are VenTek Ventures, led by Tony Zhang from Silicon Valley, Ian Kung, the CEO and Co-founder of Adonit and Paul Wu, the CEO of GMobi. We’re planning on using these funds to reinforce our cooperative ability and engage in more strategic alliances with overseas companies to access more international markets.

Q: What do your products look like now compared to last year?

A: We’ve had quite a few advancements over the past year. Firstly, Kdan’s flagship apps are now available on all major platforms, including Apple’s App Store, Google Play and Windows Marketplace. This means that users can access all their files on Kdan Cloud on any mobile device. Our services are fully compatible on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac. Secondly, we have launched many new product updates recently, such as the new auto-sync feature, the in-app message center and web-clipper on NoteLedge. For PDF Markup Cloud, we have introduced the new slideshow mode back in May. This new update was inspired by how users prefer to save presentations as a PDF then present the PDF file, rather than using PowerPoint, as they risk some changes to the format when switching computer devices. So we decided to develop in this direction. We continuously work very hard to keep developing and improving our products, as we are dedicated to providing our users with the best products and services. Our team is currently working on improving the interoperability between our creative app series and customer support. We are absolutely delighted to reach the breakthrough of 60 million users worldwide, and this encourages us to strive for even further.
