Q: Edward, how did you come up with the idea to found Laundrapp?
A: The original inspiration for Laundrapp actually came from our chairman. He also is a serial entrepreneur and has been involved with other successful start-ups like myself. Over lunch we discussed other industries that we’re likely to be disrupted with smart on-demand technology including the laundry industry. After much thinking and lots of due diligence Laundrapp was born and we’ve been growing ever since. We’re now available in over 100 cities across the UK and have just closed a new round of funding to grow the business even more! It’s been quite a rollercoaster; one day we should write a book but for now we’ve got the laundry to do!

Q: What are your growth projections for Laundrapp?
A: We’re here to change the world, anything less and we’d be wasting our time. We created Laundrapp to disrupt the global laundry & dry cleaning industry and we’re slowly starting to make a dent. Here in the UK we’re already one of the fastest growing start-ups let alone one of the world’s most exciting and innovative laundry companies! This is an industry that hasn’t changed in decades, we’re here to shake it up and with it bring a service that simplifies the lives of our users across the UK and soon to be the world!

Q: You’ve recently announced a £5 million Venture funding; what’s your next step?
A: That’s simple, growth! This year you’ll see further tech innovations soon as we further grow the business and use ever smarter technology to deliver an award winning service to our customers. We’re a tech and service driven business at our heart, we’re making massive strides to improve both of these areas and instil Laundrapp as the service of choice when outsourcing your laundry or dry cleaning. In 18 months the business has grown exponentially, now 100 towns & cities in the UK, goodness knows how far this business will grow in the next 18 months, I can tell you one thing for sure, it’s going to be a lot of fun finding out!

Q: What’s the best thing about Laundrapp that people might not know about?
A: A lot of people who haven’t tried Laundrapp yet may think that they’re paying a premium for our service, but that’s not usually the case. We work very hard to keep our prices in line with traditional dry cleaners and for many people Laundrapp can work out much more cost effective than buying a new washing machine too.
So not only is it a great service, amazing technology but we’re affordable too, win, win, win!
We’re super excited about the business we’ve built and in such a short space of time, we’ve grown enormously and thrilled that so many people have invited us into their homes up and down the country.
