Loggly Raises $11.5 Million To Further Accelerate Innovation And Expand Sales And Marketing Activities

Loggly has recently raised $11.5 Million Series D funding round led by True Ventures. This funding enables Loggly to further accelerate innovation in powerful analytics, alerts, search capabilities and other key areas so its customers can find root causes faster, spot anomalies earlier and monitor the health of their applications and infrastructure. Below is our interview with Charlie Oppenheimer, Loggly’s CEO:

Q: Charlie, how would you describe Loggly in your own words?

A: Loggly is a very special company that has figured out how to take extraordinary amounts of customer’s application and system data (in the form of logs) and turn it into dashboards, alerts and actionable info, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It’s an exciting challenge that gets bigger every single day.

Q: Could you please give us more insights into Loggly´s functionality?

A: Loggly has two parallel use cases: Monitoring and troubleshooting. Both are based on a proprietary analytical system that automatically parses (separates it into component data elements), tags, categorizes and organizes customer data. Monitoring includes dashboards, anomaly monitoring and alerts by which Loggly automatically processes the log data and takes actions based on the customer’s rules. Troubleshooting is all about quickly understanding why certain conditions make exist and to determine what changes are required. Troubleshooting functionality includes browsing, searching, graphing, and something called “live tail” which is a way to view consolidated data as it flows.

Q: What are the main benefits of using Loggly´s solution? How is it different than existing solutions?

A: We reveal what matters to our users by giving them a bird’s eye view of their data as soon as they send us their logs. No need to install any local agents, it’s a simple “plug in and go” service. Our automated parsing feature and newer features like Loggly Live Tail allow for a streamlined user experience. We built this product with a “design-first” philosophy in mind and believe it gives us an edge over alternative solutions.

Q: You’ve recently announced a $11.5 million fourth funding round; what are your plans?

A: Following record growth and customer adoption, including reaching the 2,000 paid customer accounts milestone in Q1 2016, this next round of funding marks continued momentum for Loggly. True Ventures – and all Loggly investors – have set the stage for us to build on these achievements.
