Q: What makes MSH INTERNATIONAL different on the international health insurance market?

A: MSH INTERNATIONAL has a distinctive business model, as we provide program design with Third Party Administration (TPA) services. Our comprehensive service covers consulting, administration and management of employee benefits plans to help our clients choose the best option, tailored to their unique needs.

Q: Tell us more about the company and your history?

A: Formed in 1974 in France, MSH INTERNATIONAL initially set out to provide support to the globally-mobile employees of large businesses through the delivery of dedicated group insurance solutions. From 1998 onwards, MSH INTERNATIONAL also began to offer health insurance solutions to Individuals living outside of their country of origin.

The company then developed its business worldwide through acquisitions in Canada, China and the United Arab Emirates. Today, we have more than 330,000 lives covered in the world from four regional head offices in Calgary, Paris, Dubai and Shanghai, with a customer service available 24/7 and in multiple languages.

Q: Could you explain in a few words what MSH Aviator is and how this innovative online tool serves your clients’ interests?

A: MSH Aviator was born from the identification of plan administrators’ frustration over the opacity of their insurance plan. With this tool, we finally shed the light on employee benefits programs’ utilization and Return On Investment (ROI), which are usually really hard to assess with most insurance providers.

Through customizable dashboards, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and predictive analytics, MSH Aviator helps our clients to get a better understanding of their plan and to be proactive on the management of their employee benefits:

  • CLAIMS EXPERIENCE: Break down of claims experience by benefits, age, amounts and regional service.
  • NETWORK UTILIZATION: Review of paid vs incurred claims and visualization of medical network utilization and savings.
  • GLOBAL PERFORMANCE: Assessment of the plan’s global performance to get an updated overview of the plan and an estimated Net Loss Ratio.
  • ESTIMATED TOTAL CLAIMS: Calculation of total paid claims plus estimated claims that have been incurred but not reported yet.

Predictive analytics is the key feature of this tool that allows plan administrators to properly estimate the total amount of claims that will incur in the future, for employees on assignment in a specific region of the world. In a word, MSH Aviator gives our clients full control and a clear vision over the current and future trends of employee benefits program.

Q: What can we expect from MSH International in the next six months?

A: Technology and transparency is our motto to deliver the service excellence expected by our clients and partners. It is in this direction that we will lead our next innovations. Among them, we are developing a new solution for individual expatriates which will widen our range of products on the individual side. We are also about to launch a new online platform that will help our partnered brokers, key actors in our distribution channel, to manage their business with us.

At the end of the month, we will be exhibiting at the Self Insurance Institute of America’s annual conference, in Austin Texas. With the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act – Obamacare – US companies indeed represent a large market for Self-Insurance, a solution at which we excel thanks to our Stop Loss program and MSH Aviator.
