New TRIMIT Version Released – An End-to-End System for Fashion and Furniture

Listen to this article

TRIMIT as a company was founded 27 years ago. They were among the first pioneers to develop standard software solutions for specific industries. Today, the TRIMIT solution is used by more than 8,500 people and is sold through their partner network in 12 countries. Below is our recent interview with Troels Rasmussen from TRIMIT:

Troels Rasmussen

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to TRIMIT?

A: TRIMIT is an end-to-end business solution that lets companies do more business with less resources. The solution is powered by Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and this means that we have close ties to Microsoft though various elite programs. The TRIMIT solution is built specifically for the fashion and furniture industry but it is also used by companies that work with variants and product configuration.

Q: You’ve recently released the new version of TRIMIT based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017; tell us something more?

A: Firstly, it’s a big thing for us to deliver a TRIMIT release for all Dynamics NAV releases as quickly as possible. That is what ensures that our customers get value for their money and it gives our partners the chance to be the first in their respective markets to go out with an industry specific ERP solution based on the latest version of Dynamics NAV. If we look at this latest version of TRIMIT for Dynamics NAV 2017, it’s probably one of the biggest we’ve released so far in terms of new functionality and improved features. We spend a lot of time with customers, potential customers, partners and industry experts to understand their challenges, and these conversations form the basis of our product. Right now, e-commerce and omni-channel is on everybody’s minds so with our latest release we have a lot of new and improved features specifically in those areas. Other than that, the document describing new things in our latest release is around 30 pages so I could talk for hours, but there is no question that our product has never been more compelling than it is just now.

Q: What are main benefits for your users?

A: For our users, I think the main benefits are that they have the right tool that lets them focus on their core competencies no matter where they work in the organization. With TRIMIT, users get the overview that allows them to make smarter decisions and this is the right platform for growth.
TRIMIT has the features they look for, yet is cost efficient to operate. Our mantra is to enable our users to do “more business with less resources” and we work hard on enabling that.

Q: Could you explain the function and advantages of TRIMIT Fashion?

A: For apparel and fashion companies, TRIMIT is one of the only products that truly ties everything into one. Many solutions focus almost exclusively on integrating sales channels and providing great customer experiences. And while we also think these are critically important areas, that TRIMIT handles too, our product takes it a lot further than this. Stuff like e-commerce, style and collection management, PDM and PLM, manufacturing, product costing, warehousing – and the list goes on – all of this comes out of the box with TRIMIT in a very user friendly package. We believe we have one of the most complete suites out there for apparel, footwear and accessory companies, and the best part is that it gets better not based on what we think is nice to have, but based on what our users experience in their daily lives.

Q: What are your plans for next four months?

A: Now that we’ve just released our 2017 version, we’re taking a look at what should become part of the next release after that. We’ve already had the first meetings with customers and partners to get their insights and wishes, and these discussions become part of the selection we make when we decide what we will be working on in 2017. Besides from that, we plan to spend a lot of time with existing customers and partners to showcase the new version so they can start planning to upgrade using our Zero Cost Upgrade concept.
