Reachpod – Social Media Management For Professionals

Q: How did the idea for the Reachpod come about, and when did you launch?

A: The idea of Reachpod came from Inovaktif, a social media agency I founded in 2010. The idea behind Inovaktif being active innovation, the social media managers in the agency were spending countless hours trying to optimize the cross use of social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

On one hand, posts were being prepared on a weekly basis to be sent out for approval to customers. On the other hand, countless nights were spent on pages and pages of reports that were only being scrolled through or glanced at by business managers who were only interested in rising graphs.

Some accounts were so active that community managers had to work in teams, delegating tasks to efficiently respond to queries and follow up on requests. These were the nightmares a new generation was facing in a field of technological tools they were unaccustomed to.

That was when our search started to find a tool that could ease this process and let community managers focus on people rather than platforms. We tried all the tools that were out there but they did not fully meet the needs of our customers. This was when we decided to build our own tool in order to save time, work efficiently and minimize lost customer connections.

We started building and using Reachpod in 2013. The more we used it the more community managers had time available to focus on strategy rather than managing communities. In January 2014, Reachpod received a seed fund of $170K and focused on commercializing the platform. The user interface was improved, features were added and the core team expanded to prepare the launch in May 2014, merely 5 months after funding. With a second and third round of investment and now totaling $640K funding, Reachpod is growing at an increased tempo.

Q: Could you tell us more about Reachpod’s key features?

A: We divided our features into four major categories; Engagement, Monitoring, Collaborating and Reporting. By doing so, users are able to focus on what is important to them without having to lose focus on other categories.
Reachpod enables users to engage with followers, monitor social networks, collaborate with team members and create reports on network and team activity.

Currently users can publish on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn; monitor Instagram, RSS, WordPress, Blogger, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn; collaborate with team members on every channel and every possible interaction; get combined reports for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

Q: What advantage does Reachpod have over its competitors?

A: The most important advantage against any of our competitors is that we offer the option to create custom features in the case of corporate customers and we develop all our features upon the feedback we receive from community managers using the platform. This is why Reachpod is called a platform by community managers, for community managers. We take pride in creating a platform which serves a bigger purpose than generating income. Therefore, a more obvious advantage of Reachpod over its competitors is also pricing. Our personal plan is only $5.99 a month but we also have a completely free plan with less features for users who focus on one category of social media management only.

The less obvious advantages of Reachpod, the features, are found once a user starts using the platform. Some great features such as notification alerts on trending streams, unpublished post comment moderation, a failsafe button to stop all outgoing scheduled posts, sentimental tagging to each stream item,identifying important followers who interact with user’s pages or blocking users.
