Q: Can you tell us about how you got started with SQLdep?
A: I was one of those developers in a large corporation, running around undocumented code like headless chickens. I routinely analyzed thousands of lines of SQL code and a month later would have to do the exact same part from scratch. I realized it’s the biggest pain point in every company with a data warehouse—half a million companies globally. So… I quit my job and started to code SQLdep.
Q: Tell us something more about SQLdep and your core competence?

Q: You’ve recently announced the launch of SQLdep 2.0, what are main benefits for the users?
A: The main new feature of SQLdep 2.0 is the ‘SQL Wayback Machine’. With our ‘SQL Wayback Machine’ you can visually track the changes in data transformation across different environments. This allows you not only compare what is running where, but you can track the differences in time as well. Everything is easily accessible through the web browser and fully automated.

Q: What are your plans for 2016?
A: This year we processed the SQL code for hundreds of companies all around the world. We have established a strong presence in the Czech banking sector with 18% of banks having ETL processed by SQLdep. The goal for the next year is build a strong customer base in the US market.
At the beginning of the year we are releasing major features like tracing data lineage on a stored procedure level,and visualizing inner SQL structure regardless of the query complexity. Such features are a great productivity booster in the daily life of any developer.
