We sat down with Reno Rolle and Lynn Rolle, co-founders of BOKU International to learn more about the company and its feature:
Q: Could you tell us more about your background?
A: The idea for our company was born out of necessity and a parent’s desire to embrace natural plant based solutions to health and wellness challenges. In 1995 we learned that our son had focus problems and we provided a prescription for a synthetic drug that our son would be on most of his young life. We were shocked to realize there weren’t any natural, less harmful alternatives for treatment. But we weren’t going to take this course of treatment at face value. So, after tons of questions and research , we were led to a naturopathic physician who had experienced recent success using blue green algae, spirulina, and other potent, live foods in treating behavior challenges. Skeptical at first (it’s hard to change years of ‘learned’ behavior), the positive results quickly ignited our passion for super foods. We began to realize that nutrition plays a huge role in our health and wellness and that nature might offer real solutions hidden in plain sight.
Q: You’ve curated “Gift of Health” packages for this holiday season; how can the contents help consumers?
A: Each of our curated “Gift of Health” packages include different superfood products that are perfect for people of all ages and walks of life. Every product was carefully picked for these baskets to ensure our bodies are getting the support and wellness they deserve. Q: What are your plans for the first half of 2017?
A: First, we will be moving to our new headquarters in our hometown of Ojai California – right next to the iconic Ojai Valley Inn & Spa. Ojai is widely considered the mecca of mind+body wellness, so the location is fitting for our brand philosophy and product attributes. Not only will our headquarters house our state-of-the-art packaging facility, but we also want it to be a social hub of nourishment and good health. Another exciting announcement for 2017 will be an amazing product launch I have been working on for years: Super Food for pets! We lost my giant schnauzer Rasta last July, but he lived a long, wonderful life due to his nutrition. He was part of our family for 15 years, and when he passed I said I will launch a super food for pets in his honor. He was my test subject for many years:)
Q: What are some of your strategies to continue your rapid expansion and growth of this exciting brand?
A: We are continuing to create superior superfood products that enhance beauty and wellness from the inside out, and use our resources to reach out to as many people as we can to let them know about how this brand that has changed our life and the lives of many of our customers. We want to cover the entire spectrum of lifestyle – home care, oral care, food and nutritional supplements, and beyond – so no one has to be subjected to poor or harmful ingredients.Activate Social Media:
