Q: How would you describe Xait and software it delivers?
A: Xait is an innovative software company, behind XaitPorter. Xait has with XaitPorter more than 50,000 users globally using XaitPorter for business critical documents such as contracts, bids, financial reports, license applications, field developments plans and more. XaitPorter is built on a database, and allows for document co-authoring and collaboration on the same document in real-time and with a built in workflow it enables our clients to work produce documents more efficiently. In addition, XaitPorter enables document automation, document assembly and it automatically takes care of formatting, layout and numbering.

Q: What have been some major milestones over the last 12 months?
A: Xait increased turnover with close to 30% in 2015. Considering that a major part of our business comes from the oil and gas sector, we are proud of that result.
More significantly for the future growth of Xait, XaitPorter is now also available as an Application Platform as a Service (APaaS) – something that we launched late 2015. We already have major corporations that have or will launch new software in 2016 and 2017, using XaitPorter as part of their offering. While XaitPorter is available as a stand-alone SaaS solution, it is also perfect as an APaaS solution. Basically anything you can do in the solution can programmatically be done thru the API – in addition being built on a database means that you can easily integrate with CRM, ERP, DMS, DAM etc. solutions.
In addition, you can extract KPIs from XaitPorter that is not possible from a file based solution, providing executives with information that can enable them to make better decisions. An integration that combines XaitPorter, a CRM solution and a Business Intelligence (BI) solution, can give executives an accurate overview of how long time and effectively do geographical regions produce proposals in comparison, how do their win rates compared to the hour they put in and what content wins more business. This is information business process managers are really struggling to get accurate, but with XaitPorter this can easily be achieved.
Q: You’ve recently signed a 3 year contract with Subsea 7; tell us something more?
A: Subsea 7 has experienced at tough period with the oil crisis. However, Subsea 7 decided to extend the contract with XaitPorter as it has proven a vital solution for them to win more business in a challenging market.

Q: Could you explain the most prominent advantages of your database driven document collaboration?
A: There are many benefits of using a database driven document collaboration solution. One core benefit is that it enables our clients to work in a parallel process rather than a serial process as it typical with file driven solutions as there is no check-in/check-out of files. Neither do you break a document up into many files. Being database driven also increases the security of the solution, it enables single-source content and compound document management. With a database driven solution you can provide access to portions of a document or i.e. you can restrict access to a part of the document. A database driven document solution also provides a complete audit log of anything that has been done with the information.
Being database driven also enables master content management, which enables the use of single-source content. This allow you to use i.e. the same section such as “About Acme” or the T&Cs across multiple live documents at the same time, while controlling it centrally. Thereby you can have pre-approved content, that is actively managed. In addition, with the use of metadata you can tailor this pre-approved content with client name and have different layout, while the content stays the same. Our clients that use this to the full extent experience massive time savings, but more importantly they have more accurately and higher quality content available with significantly less work.
Another benefit, is the ability to automatically produce all sorts of documents – also from other solutions such as Salesforce.
Q: What will Xait focus on for the coming year?
A: Xait will be focusing getting new partners and resellers, we are actively pursuing other APaaS clients/partners. This is also reflected in our organisation where I will be mainly focusing on partners and APaaS partners in the coming year. In addition, we will focus on making XaitPorter an even better solution for our SaaS clients. Our founder and CEO, Owe Lie-Bjelland is also relocating to our Austin office to focus on growing our business in North America.
