Yocale – Changing The Entire Game Of Online Booking

Yocale is disrupting how people discover and book appointments with local businesses on one hand, and how small businesses manage their business and acquire new clients on the other. Recently, they had been selected as a 2016 TiE50 award winner amongst 2,000 companies from over 13 countries. Below is our interview with Arash Asli, CEO and Co-founder of Yocale:

Q: How would you describe Yocale in your own words?

A: Yocale means Your Locale in your community.

We’ve created a platform by which we bring local consumers and local service providers into one place. And we help the local service providers to get discovered, get booked, and get reviewed with the perfect appointment with the local consumers.

We help consumers to find out who’s around them, what services they offer, and be able to find out what their real-time availability is, and to be able to book appointments from one platform with the local service providers. It provides a lot of value to create a community of service providers and a community of members to make things a lot easier.

We do what Expedia does for travel, but for open appointments. And we also help automate the business through a cloud business advancement software, help with reducing no-shows, and help to get found there.

Yocale started because I got in a skiing accident and I had a very tough time trying to find an available slot with a local massage therapist. I did the typical things that we already do. I looked through Google and called them and left messages, they would call me back and left messages for me and I would play phone tag with them.

So we’re now having a problem that we later on coined as ‘appointmenting’, and we were registered in the urban dictionary.

It dawned on us that we could create an amazing platform where people can find the local service providers around them, book them in real-time, while managing all of their appointments from one integrated platform. And for the businesses, allow them to better engage and more efficiently manage their business.

It provides a lot of value to create a community of service providers and a community of members to make things a lot easier.

Q: Could you tell us more about Yocale’s key features?

A: Yocale is a fully featured cloud-based booking and practice management system designed to help businesses get more time back by allowing their customers to book them during the day, after hours, as well as on weekends.

We provide features like scheduling, booking appointments, and online booking. We provide client-relationship management tools so that businesses can better engage their clients, as well as understand client history; we are able to capture things like session notes or charting information in case of allied health professionals.

And then we provide some marketing tools, social tools, reporting to be able to better understand and get insights into the business and on top of all that, we also do invoicing like a POS, along with our Yocale marketplace, which is a place again where businesses can be listed and be found by us almost giving them a mini-website where they can get discovered, get booked, and get reviewed by the local consumers.

Our booking SMS and email reminders are one of our most popular features. This allows the business to focus on other more important things instead of having to contact people to remind them of their appointments.

Q: You’ve recently been selected as a “2016 TiE50 Winner”; tell us something more?

A: TiE50 was a great and prestigious Silicon Valley award that we won.

It was about 2,000 companies from over 13 countries that were monitored and applied. We were shortlisted and then, had to go down to Santa Clara, California to present.

And after that, we became one of the Top 50 companies. I believe they had 47 judges that had various different backgrounds from angel investors, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and so on and so forth that did judging.

So, we are honored to be a finalist and winner of the 2016 TiE50 award as we were amongst other great companies that were nominated from around the world; needless to say we’re pretty proud to have won.

Q: What can we expect from your team in next six months?

A: There are many amazing features that are on the roadmap in the upcoming 6 months.

We’re spending quite a bit of resources on innovation, innovating new things as well as adding new feature functionalities based on the learnings that we’ve had from our time in the market.

We’re going to continue enhancing our user experience both from the providers’ point of view, service providers’ point of view as well as our consumers’. And we’re gonna start exploring new markets.

We kind of basically try to automate as much as possible and make the life of the service providers easier and that I mean, I need to remove their headaches. If you can remove their headaches, then that would be a great help.

Q: How would you convince the reader to start using Yocale?

A: Yocale is about simplicity and ease of use. It can help you get new clients.

It helps to better manage existing client relationships. Almost like providing a premium service by allowing another channel where customers are able to book their appointments, manage their receipts, and more.

As well as automation of the back office helps to go green, and minimize paperwork. Reduce no-shows by having automated reminders, and generally get much better insights in terms of what’s happening to the business.

We created this powerful software to make the lives of the business owners using it, as well as their own clients who book them on it, to be able to quickly and seamlessly book and schedule appointments from anywhere and at anytime.
