Then, they run these preprinted labels through their direct thermal label printers to add variable data like barcodes, lot numbers, expiration dates, and so forth. No need to run the labels through a second time.
Q: Was the Epson GP-C831 color label printer able to compete with these industrial thermal printers?
A: Yes and no. The GP-C831 prints full color labels and can include variable data, so it has been used to print full color label and barcodes in this manner. However, it was a standalone color label printer. The Epson ColorWorks C6500A color label printer has remote management features and compatibility with a broad range of middleware like SAP that allow it to become part of a larger fleet of industrial label printers and fit into enterprise workflows.
