Below is our recent interview with Alex Fortunati, CEO at Diamond Environmental Services:

Q: Can you tell us something more about the company and what you do?

A: Our company is a leader in the Southern California market. We provide the following services: Portable Toilet Rental delivery and its sanitation services, temporary fencing, temporary power services, solid waste removal, septic tank services. We service every day thousands of construction sites across Southern California from our 7 facilities located in San Marcos our headquarter, Miramar, Perris, Indio, Hesperia, Fullerton and Huntington Park.

Q: How much does a portable restroom rental cost?

A: It varies depending on the type of portable toilet. But it can range from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars.

Q: What’s included in it?

A: Portable toilets are delivered with toilet tissue and sanitizer and are serviced once a week, twice a week or the frequency established by agreement with clients.

Q: Can you give us insights into your products?

A: We have Classic Restrooms with our typical blue color and white tops that include toilet, urinal. Premier Restrooms that are the same as Classic plus foot pump sink, soap water, paper towels and toilet tissue. Premier Plus that has all of the above plus a foot flushing pump. Handicap Restrooms that can accommodate a wheelchair. ADA Restrooms with more room so that handicap person can do a full 360 degree inside and it also has support rails. Solar Elite Restrooms ideal for weddings with flushing toilet, mirror, light. We also have a variety of 2 – 3 -4 basin sinks and hand sanitizer stands as well as our luxury line of Restroom Suites from Kohler and Jag brands ideal for top of the line private events.

Q: Why Diamond?

A: Diamond Environmental Services is a family owned business that prides itself to be of service and work in a friendly environment. Company was founded 21 years ago. Q: What makes you the best choice?

A: We go the extra mile. We simply are the best choice because we have invested in our people, our systems, our facilities, our vehicles. We are consistent at what we do and we have built a great company based on hard work ethics.

Q: What are the company’s plans and goals for the future?

A: We are growing constantly so we are always hiring new people and training them to perform to provide great service. During this time of uncertainty we are making sure we protect our workforce and our clients following and adhering to all proper guidelines from authorities. We remain confident that we will keep growing because we have a winning team attitude. Our people make us a great company.

Q: You are considered an essential service during COVID 19…did sales increase or diminish?

A: We are considered an Essential Service under the criteria established by CISA- Homeland Security Critical Infrastructure dated March 19, 2020. Due to the nature of the pandemic crisis all public gatherings have been cancelled so our company unfortunately lost a great deal of service business since we provide services to social and public, private events across Southern California. However we have had an increase in frequencies of services to the rest of the construction sites in our portfolio

Q: How are you protecting your workforce and clients?

A: We have taken a proactive approach since day one and have made the appropriate arrangements so that we comply with guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and World Health Organization. These measures are increased frequencies of cleaning standards as to clean, wipe down with alcohol based sanitizer all surfaces that we can come in contact many times during the day such as door knobs, handles, phones, door frames, stair rails, entrance doors, restrooms, break rooms. We also have requested our fleet to do the same on all our vehicles and also on all aspects of how we operate such as when we deliver or when we service our portable toilets we wipe down all areas of frequent touch with a germ wipe that has a 60% alcohol content. We have also sent home many clerical staff so they can work remote and have changed a few administrative position to a different later shift. Made sure we have rearranged all work stations to have people work at a minimum of 6 ft social distance and we require all our workers to have facial covering masks which we provided to them as well as gloves for all that service clients. We send frequent communications to all our staff with new information and reminders about the guidelines from authorities.
