An Interview With Alex Rossman, President At Rossman Media Group

Below is our recent interview with Alex Rossman, President at Rossman Media:

Q: For those who haven’t heard of it, what is the best way to describe Rossman Media?

A: This year Rossman Media was ranked by Business Insider as a Top 50 Social Media Agency in the U.S. because of our award-winning customer acquisition strategies and technology. Our mission is to help growing brands engage and convert more customers through award-winning social media strategies. This includes social media management and optimization, social media advertising as well as social branding and strategy.

Q: Alex, what’s your story? How you started Rossman Media?

A: My story is unique. Believe it or not many people recognize me by my stage name “Rossy,” as a singer/songwriter and producer before a “digital marketing expert.” In my early to mid-twenties, I played shows, released albums and even was recognized by top musical acts like The Chainsmokers and featured on media outlets like Complex Magazine. What I realized over time is that despite the millions of views and rising popularity of my music, financially it wasn’t a sustainable industry for me. While I will always love music, my passion now is heavily involved in my marketing company. I always tell people that my music career taught me digital marketing at it’s finest because I was responsible for creating a product (my music) and then finding a way to promote and monetize it. Not an easy task in today’s competitive marketplace. I would spend countless hours scraping email lists of senior editors at music magazines, record labels and even teaching myself Facebook advertising to promote new music video releases.

I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart and Rossman Media was a seamless transition from my music career. Since it’s beginning in 2017, my company has grown it’s revenue 5X and I’ve had the incedible opportunity to work with the world’s leading brands like Airbnb, Bose, OrangeTheory and more.

Entrepreneurship is a wild ride and I’m so fortunate to be where I am today.

Q: What types of services do you offer to your clients?

A: While we have a full-service business model, we specialize in social media services including social media strategy, social media management and optimization, social media advertising, as well as photo and video production.

Q: How is digital marketing different today than it was just a few years ago?

A: Each year more and more companies are reallocating their budget to digital. The traditional mediums of print and PR are officially dead. Businesses of all sizes are feeling immense pressure to stay relevant in this growing digital marketplace and it is important for these entities to adjust with the times or they’ll get left behind. We’ve seen major businesses shut their doors because a lack of digital and social relevancy. My biggest piece of advice for business owners is to make sure they have a strong digital strategy in place with a forward-thinking team to implement it. This is an everchanging environment and you have to keep up with it, or you’ll fall behind.

Q: What are the core principles of your work?

A: We have many but above all else we strongly believe in a “personalized customer experience” when marketing our client’s product or service. What does this mean? Well, we believe that content should be positioned to appeal to a customer’s exact behaviors and lifestyle. The data shows that a business is 86% more likely to convert a prospect by appealing to their unique interests and buying behaviors versus a generic broad match marketing strategy. Our goal is to wholeheartedly understand our clients’ product or service so we can best get in front of their ideal customer.

Q: What are the company’s plans and goals for the future?

A: You’ll be seeing a lot of us. We aren’t going anywhere. My goals are big and they continue to get bigger. From building new social media technology and software to establishing larger media partnerships, our goal is simple: to help more American businesses grow.
