Below is our recent interview with Anthony:

Q: You have achieved top sales accolades in various industries, what is the secret to always being a top performer in sales?

A: Having a successful career in sales requires a high level of grit and mental fortitude. The actual skill of selling is fairly easy to learn and master. The challenging part of being in sales is the mental challenges one will face throughout their career. The constant emotional swing in sales is what causes sales to have such a high turnover. Not everyone can handle that.

Over the past 18 years, I have made it my mission to ensure that I remained focused on the outcome of my goals. I never allowed myself to get to high on my emotions when I was at the top of the sales leader board. Likewise, I never allowed myself to feel devalued by my numbers.

Q: You recently became an International Best Seller, can you share with us the premise behind your book, Catapulting Commissions?

A: Over nearly the past two decades, I have been constantly asked how to create a successful career in sales? So, with that question always being asked, I decided to share my personal experiences and research on this subject. One of the keys to longevity in sales is ensuring that you are making enough commission dollars to cover the expenses of life. In order to ensure that your commissions are covering your expenses, we must have a system in place to execute at a high level in your sales career. In Catapulting Commissions, I take the reader through a series of 11 questions to ponder their sales career and show them how to execute in these areas so they may achieve their next sales goal.

Q: With the success of the book, what other projects have been associated with Catapulting Commissions?

A: The book was always designed to serve as message that I leave with the generation of sales professionals that will be here long after I am gone. I currently manage a high performing sales team and that opportunity still has me very passionate about sales leadership. However, I have leveraged the book to now have a workbook that is designed to help the reader of Catapulting Commissions take action on their emotions. We know have the Catapulting Commissions podcast which is a business podcast that interviews top sales executives and entrepreneurs from around the world. Some of my previous guest have included top sales performers, former C suite executives, Olympic athletes and even a former senior advisor to President Barack Obama.

Q: What advice do you for sales professionals who hope to achieve the success that you have had?

A: This is actually pretty simple. Two bits of advice that are of equal importance. First, never stop being a student of sales. Top professionals are always looking at ways to improve their craft. This doesn’t mean just being a product expert and knowing everything about your product or service. It means knowing your competitors better than they know themselves. It also means always studying and learning the everchanging science of sales. Our customers are well versed in antiquated sales tactics and we have to ensure that we ahead of the curve.

The other bit of advice is to always ensure that you surround yourself with people who are more successful than you are. You never want to be the wealthiest or most successful in your inner circle of friends. Having a dynamic supporting environment can catapulting your sales career.
