Q: Chuck, what is TLR Distribution?

A: TLR Distribution is a music distribution company aimed at providing artists the tools they need to grow their careers from whatever level they’re at currently. Among our services, we offer worldwide distribution, publishing administration, licensing, and have various marketing and asset creation services available for our clients.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: We just officially launched our company and our client dashboards, which are available to any artist under TLR. Through this, artists or their teams can upload releases, manage their catalogs, add payment splits to rightsholders, manage compositions for our publishing administration, and more.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: One of the ways we want to provide the tools to artists to support their growth is by creating a community that provides an easier access point to the company rather than just traditional methods such as email. To do this we created a discord where our artists can find FAQ’s, ask questions, find company files and forms, stay updated, and connect with other members of our platform. We also will be actively managing the catalog under us to make sure metadata and publishing information is correct, release strategies are optimal, and the songs are in the best position possible for any opportunities that come along through us. This is something I see a lot of companies get wrong where metadata and rightsholder information is not accurately listed and alot of artists aren’t fully aware of this. Thus, a lot of issues come up for both sides. We want to make sure all possible money is being collected fully, accurately, and that we’re doing what we can to maximize that.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: Our first step is getting people aware of our platform and the benefits we offer. Once we feel we are making good progress there, we want to get into focusing on licensing opportunities and partnerships for our catalog, funding opportunities, expanding our own playlist & content platform, and other investments around artist development.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: One thing that differentiates us from other distributors is our long-term vision of the artist. We want to position ourselves in a way where we can grow with the artist and their team along the way. I’ve seen too many companies that are focused only on low-barrier subscription revenue, catalog volume and low-effectiveness simple services. I think there’s a big opportunity in investing along with the artist through their career, focusing on the catalog quality, and using that as your center-point for expanding.
