Listen to this article

Below is our recent interview with Matt Singer, Emely Molina, and Jake Forsland from DailyPay:

Matt Singer, Vice President, Product, Human Capital Management, 6 years at DailyPay

Q: What is your role at DailyPay?

A: I’m the Vice President of Product for Human Capital Management (our On-Demand Pay product and Enterprise Business)

Q: What are you most proud of during your time at DailyPay?

A: After working at DailyPay for over six years, it’s difficult to pick only one moment or project of which I’m most proud. But, if I had to narrow it down to just one, it’s that I work with people who are driven by DailyPay’s drive to bring financial freedom to those workers who most need it.

Q: Any memorable stories on how employees have used DailyPay over the years?

A: Listening to our users and the employers they work for is the most important part of working at DailyPay and improving our offerings. Clients see our product as a way to drive loyalty and retention in the workplace and DailyPay has proved that it works. We have phenomenal relationships with our clients and often are asked to help them in creative ways when they encounter problems around pay, and DailyPay will always do whatever it takes to make sure the employees can access their pay and the employers feel supported.

Q: Any memorable stories on how employees have used DailyPay over the years?

A: We’ve heard it all – and what we hear reaffirms that DailyPay is special. We’ve heard stories about employees who have used DailyPay’s access to On-Demand Pay help with fixing their cars, buying groceries and birthday presents, or paying their rent. The list goes on and on. They’re all memorable and remind us why we do it and keep us coming back each day.

Q: How has DailyPay evolved over time to better suit the needs of workers?

A: While DailyPay’s mission has remained intact, we’ve substantially evolved our product to better serve the needs of employees and their employers. We went from a one-product offering (On-Demand Pay), to many and now provide multiple products and services to help users have ownership of their financial health. From On-Demand Pay to a debit card with a savings jar feature, credit monitoring, savings on purchases, and many more, DailyPay allows the worker to control their financial future in the best way possible.

Q: What does the future hold for DailyPay?

A: Greatness.

Emely Molina, Senior Graphic Designer, 6 years at DailyPay

Q: What is your role at DailyPay?

A: I’m a Senior Graphic Designer on the Studio team, where I lead high-level creative projects. My work spans a wide range of design deliverables including the development of logos, one-pagers, launch materials. I actively contribute fresh, innovative ideas to help evolve and strengthen the DailyPay brand.

Q: What are you most proud of during your time at DailyPay?

A: Having joined DailyPay in 2019, I’m proud to have been part of the brand’s evolution over the years. I’ve had the opportunity to contribute ideas, bring concepts to life, and help shape the brand into what it is today.

Q: What impact has DailyPay had on the employees of the clients you partner with?

A: DailyPay has been a game-changer for hourly workers, especially those without emergency savings. By enabling employers to provide their employees with access to their earned pay when they need it most, we empower employees to confidently navigate their financial journey.

Q: Any memorable stories on how employees have used DailyPay over the years?

A: We hear incredible stories all the time, but one that stands out is about a single mother who used DailyPay, in between paydays, to access the money she already earned to buy groceries for her children when she ran out of food for the month.

Q: How has DailyPay evolved over time to better suit the needs of workers?

A: DailyPay has grown far beyond its original purpose of giving people early access to their pay. Today, we’ve supplemented our On-Demand Pay product with financial wellness tools that educate workers on how to manage their finances—all within the app—empowering them to build financial literacy and stability.

Q: What does the future hold for DailyPay?

A: I believe DailyPay has the potential to become the preferred payment solution for all workers. Over time, it could redefine the global pay system, so people no longer have to wait for traditional paydays at all.

Jake Forsland, Segment Lead, DailyPay Built-In & New Earnings Models, 8 years at DailyPay

Q: What is your role at DailyPay?

A: I am Segment Lead, DailyPay Built-In & New Earnings Models at DailyPay. I lead DailyPay’s efforts to reach small businesses and their employees via new go-to-market strategies and partnerships.

Q: What are you most proud of during your time at DailyPay?

A: I’ve been here a little over 8 years, and have been a part of three or four teams over the course of that time – implementations, project management, product operations, and my current role. I’m proud to say that in every role and on every team I’ve worked, I’ve had the opportunity to continue innovating and problem solving with our clients and users’ best interest at heart.

Q: What impact has DailyPay had on the employees of the clients you partner with?

A: I primarily work with small businesses who, until recently, have not really had much opportunity to offer On-Demand Pay to their employees. As we work with more and more of these businesses, it’s been great to see that their employees get the same benefits as their counterparts at large employers. Sometimes, you see employees who came from a large company that offered DailyPay, and now get to have access at a much smaller employer, which is really cool.

Q: Any memorable stories on how employees have used DailyPay over the years?

A: We’ve had a few small businesses sign up that are owned and/or operated by people who used to use DailyPay as employees in previous roles, and now get to offer it to their employees. Which is exactly why we do what we do.
