Below is our recent interview with Ian Campbell, President & CEO of iCONECT:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to iCONECT?
A: iCONECT Development, LLC creates innovative eDiscovery software. iCONECT-XERA raises the bar by delivering intelligent, easy-to-use tools that help hosting providers, law firms, and legal departments worldwide optimize workflows and manage big data more efficiently, sometimes requiring thousands of users to concurrently access billions of documents. Users can securely search, sort, organize, redact, chart analyze and print documents and multi-media files through an intuitive web-based platform. Ultimately, this helps them to win cases. iCONECT was honored by Silicon Review magazine as one of the 50 Most Valuable Brands of the Year 2017. In 2018, Silicon Review named iCONECT as one of the ‘30 Fastest Growing Tech Companies of the Year.’
Q: You’ve recently announced a new relationship with immixGroup; could you tell us something more?
A: Document management in the government sector has been underserviced with legacy technology for over a decade. The lengthy buying cycle means that keeping up with the commercial sector is a challenge and having access to the latest technologies (like iCONECT-XERA) can be a challenge. This changes all that. iCONECT technology will now be part of immixGroup’s seamless GSA buying and licensing process giving government agencies the direct access they need to meet the challenges of today AND tomorrow head on. We’re also anticipating the availability of access through a FedRamp Certified Cloud by mid year which expands our footprint even further.

Q: Can you give us insights into your products?
A: iCONECT continues to grow as both an innovator and aggregator of technology to meet market needs in such a way that it can scale with a customer focus to drive revenue. iCONECT has the ability to capitalize on several opportunities across various initiatives by leveraging technology, sales, marketing and business relationships. The key to the platform is the intuitive nature of the interface, allowing users to get up and running quickly and efficiently without extensive training. iCONECT achieves this by creating an interface which is in sync with social media and email tools that they use in their everyday lives.
Q: How businesses can benefit from using iCONECT-XERA?
A: What were once considered the challenges of only legal firms in a legal case are now the challenges of every corporation on the planet in their everyday activities. As eDiscovery continues to grow, we see an ever-increasing opportunity to capitalize on industry trends to build long-term sustainable revenue. Key in the current market is the need for firms who operate outside of the sphere of legal and ediscovery to adopt best practices to meet regulatory requirements of their industry vertical.
Data volume, security concerns, worldwide access, information governance, business analytics, video management, personal information privacy and retention are areas which are breaking the bounds of our typical client profile. This places iCONECT is a strong position to not only capitalize on both the growth in the current legal market and need for a tool like iCONECT’s to meet their business needs.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: Over the coming year, ICONECT continues to focus on both market demand and innovation through several channels.
SEAMLESS CONNECTION: The creation of seamless connections for both inbound data (Office365, mobile, PSTs, collected documents and media) will create a cohesive platform from which users can choose multiple workflows and technologies.
PRIVACY: The increase (63% per year) in unstructured files (email, spreadsheets, memos, presentations etc.) within a corporation combined with new regulated GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) requirements governing access to elusive documents that contain confidential, strategic and sensitive information is becoming a key business requirement. Originally only in the UK, similar regulations are currently being adopted in California, Colorado and Canada. Google was recently fined $57M USD, so it’s a big deal.
MULTI-MEDIA: With the continued expansion of audio and video as sources of evidence, management, searching and redactionsare key. Many RFPs (specifically government) are including requests for features including video search, tagging and redaction of audio and video files. Offering a seamless interface which can aggregate evidence regardless of type is becoming a key component of any workflow.
