Below is our recent interview with Joe Reilly, President of National Drug Screening:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to National Drug Screening?
A: National Drug Screening, Inc or NDS is a third-party administrator (TPA) for drug and alcohol testing programs. Services are provided to employers and individuals in all areas of the United States. Services include drug free workplace programs, laboratory testing, Medical Review Officer (MRO), training and compliance consultation. We are one of only a very few companies in the country that are both an Nationally Accredited Third Party Administrator by NDASA and Nationally Accredited for Administration of Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs by DATIA.
Q: Can you tell us something more about your Drug Testing Software? How does it work?
A: MRO Results Online software is a web-based application providing an employer a portal to manage their drug and alcohol testing. This includes electronic ordering of drug tests at our extensive network of drug testing centers across the United States and electronic receipt of drug test results from laboratories. Medical Review Officers validate the results and in real time, the completed, verified results are available to the employer via e-mail and on the secure web portal. The portal also provides complete, automated management of random drug testing programs that are compliant with United States Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Q: Can you give us insights into your features?
A: National Drug Screening uses cutting edge web-based technology for drug testing program management, recordkeeping, random selections, scheduling and reporting of test results. This includes paperless scheduling and ordering for DOT and non-DOT testing at fixed collection sites throughout the nation. A fully automated electronic ordering process combined with collection sites, Laboratories, MROs, and employers all working within the same system leads to a streamlined process with excellent turnaround times for employers. NDS software helps insure employer programs are in compliance with State, Federal and DOT regulations thus reducing the employer exposure to liability in their drug testing program.
Q: Why is having a drug testing software important for every business?
A: The software keeps track of everything going on in the drug testing program and stores all drug test result data. Turnaround time is greatly enhanced with the electronic process. Mistakes are significantly reduced when the employer is entering the applicant or employee information directly into the web portal. For random testing programs, the software creates scientifically valid random selections with full audit capabilities. This system also reduces the administrative burden and challenges many employers face in managing a drug and alcohol testing program.
Q: What do employers need to know?
A: Employers need to know there various Federal and State regulations and laws for drug testing. Drug testing policies must be reviewed and brought up to date. With medical and recreational marijuana, employers must review State laws and make decisions on drug testing for marijuana. Not making decisions and not updating drug free workplace policies will cause exposure to liability and potential negligent terminations of employment. These are all areas in which NDS can assist in employers.
Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: Plans for National Drug Screening are to continue to provide valuable resources to small and medium size businesses to help them operate drug free environments which improve safety and productivity. Our mission includes providing great service to our clients and we will continue to regularly release relevant informational articles and videos to assist employers and educate individuals. At NDS, we understand the importance of being knowledgeable in our field and we plan to continue to provide the ongoing internal training necessary for our team members to be seen as top experts at what we do. The dramatic growth NDS has experienced is due to a great team. We value and appreciate each of our employees and, as is part of our mission statement, we will continue to provide a great place to work.Activate Social Media:
