Below is our recent interview with Joseph Barrato, CEO of Arrow Investment Advisors (Arrow Funds):

Q: Can you start by giving our readers a brief introduction to your company and its core mission?
A: Arrow Funds was founded with a simple idea to give investors smarter tools for navigating complex markets. Since 2006, we’ve specialized in tactical, risk-managed strategies designed to adapt to changing market conditions rather than chase them.
Our mission has always been to help investors participate in opportunity without being ruled by volatility. Whether it’s stocks, commodities, or digital assets, we build solutions that bring institutional-level discipline to real portfolios.
Q: What sets your company apart from others in your industry? What makes you the best choice for clients?
A: We’re not a giant asset manager and that’s by design. Arrow thrives where innovation and agility meet structure. We combine decades of experience in ETF design and portfolio strategy with a deep respect for quantitative research and behavioral finance.
Our latest launch, the Arrow Valtoro ETF (CBOE: ORO), is a great example. It blends Bitcoin, gold, and cash using a rules-based framework that dynamically adapts to market conditions. It’s about bringing structure to one of the most volatile asset classes on earth, and helping investors engage with digital assets in a way that feels rational, not reckless.

Q: Who is your ideal client, and what challenges do you help them solve?
A: Our ideal clients are financial advisors, family offices, and independent investors who want exposure to innovation, but through the lens of risk management.
Many of them recognize the potential of Bitcoin or alternative assets, but they also know that unstructured exposure can be emotionally and financially draining. That’s where we come in. We give them a disciplined bridge between traditional finance and digital evolution , what we call “the tactical middle ground.”
Q: What are your key priorities and goals for the next six months?
A: Our focus is on education and expansion. The first step is helping advisors understand how tactical models like Valtoro fit into client portfolios, not as speculation, but as structured participation.
We’re also exploring international partnerships in markets like Japan, Canada, and India, where there’s growing interest in U.S.-listed tactical strategies. And internally, we’re expanding our Arrow Insights platform, a content hub designed to make complex strategies more transparent and approachable for everyday investors.
Q: What’s something unique or surprising about your company that most people don’t know?
A: Most people don’t realize that our research roots go back to the very origins of liquid alternatives. Members of our team were part of the early discussions with the IRS that paved the way for the first managed futures fund in a 1940-Act wrapper, a major milestone in modern portfolio design.
That spirit of innovation never left. We just applied it to a new frontier, digital assets. With Valtoro, we’re not chasing hype. We’re continuing a legacy of bringing disciplined innovation to where investors need it most.
