An Interview With Liviu Tanase – CEO Of Email Validation Service ZeroBounce

A serial entrepreneur and telecommunications executive with over 15 years of experience, Liviu Tanase is the founder and CEO of ZeroBounce. The email validation platform helps thousands of customers achieve better email hygiene and boost their email marketing campaigns. In this interview, we talked to Tanase about email validation and how it benefits entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes.

Q: Why did you start ZeroBounce?

A: We started ZeroBounce to help individuals and businesses reach humans, not bots. Billions of people prefer email as a communication channel. We make sure their messages reach the inbox. ZeroBounce aims to provide the most secure and accurate email validation system available. And we do our very best to succeed in this mission.

Q: What services does ZeroBounce provide?

A: ZeroBounce is an advanced email verifier. In fact, it’s more than that: it cleans your email list, enhances it with information about your subscribers, and scores it for quality.

Q: How do you clean an email list?

A: The system scans it, identifies invalid, low-value and risky email addresses and isolates them for you. Apart from reducing email bounce rate, we eliminate spam traps, catch-all, duplicate, disposable and abuse emails. Our guaranteed accuracy is 98%.

The platform is intuitive, so it’s a fast and easy process. You just upload your list, and once you get it back, you can rest assured it’s safe to use.

Q: What do you mean by “safe to use”?

A: I mean it’s safe for your sending reputation. Not all email marketers are aware of their sending reputation.

Just like in other aspects of our lives, our reputation can precede us. You are judged by the company you keep, and businesses are no different. Internet and Email Service Providers use your reputation as a metric to determine what kind of sender you are.

If you have a messy email list and frequently send emails to bad contacts, your reputation suffers. That, in turn, affects your email deliverability. Your emails land in the Spam folder or don’t get delivered at all. You end up wasting time and money on leads that have zero return on investment. Moreover, you jeopardize your valuable leads. Q: You also mentioned about ZeroBounce being able to score an email list. What does that mean?

A: I was referring to a service we launched last summer. It’s called ZeroBounce A.I. and it is an artificial intelligence-driven email scoring system. It scans your list and tells you how valuable it is, by returning a quality score for each address. The higher the score, the greater the chances for that email address to be active and engage with your messages.

ZeroBounce A.I. is helping lots of our customers get full insight into their email hygiene. It’s especially useful when it comes to validating catch-all emails.

Q: How do you protect your customers data?

A: This is an essential topic in the business environment, especially in our industry. We designed ZeroBounce to be a place where our customers feel safe about their data, and we’re committed to that. Every single file people upload on the platform is protected by a military-grade encryption code. We never store or share customers’ data and we delete it after 30 days.

Also, apart from being GDPR compliant, ZeroBounce deploys a complex firewall for extra-defense and complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. We never sleep when it comes to data protection.

Q: How do think email marketing can be most effective?

A: If done right, email marketing holds incredible potential. It’s important to send your subscribers interesting, relevant content. Personalization plays a big role here. Your writing and email design, too. But what matters most of all is to keep a good email hygiene.

Your email list is your golden goose. You can create outstanding emails, but what’s essential is for them to reach their target audience.
