From building one of Canada’s top eCommerce brands to launching a fulfillment powerhouse, Chris Kapsalakis knows how to scale online businesses from the ground up. In this interview, the ProShipper founder shares how his team is helping sellers win in the ultra-competitive world of modern eCommerce.
Below is our recent interview with Chris Kapsalakis, the Founder & CEO at ProShipper:

Q: What made you start ProShipper, and what’s the company all about?
A: Over the past 20 years, we’ve built a highly successful eCommerce brand and earned a strong reputation in the automotive industry. Back then, there were no fulfillment companies tailored specifically for eCommerce distribution, so we had to figure it out ourselves. We learned how to pick, pack, and ship every single order, by hand. Over time, we became experts at it. Our shipping was fast, our costs stayed low, and our operations ran like clockwork. Eventually, we realized we were doing fulfillment better than most 3PLs.
That’s how ProShipper was born. Now, we help other eCommerce sellers grow by giving them access to the same fulfillment systems that helped us scale to a multi-million dollar brand. The truth is, trying to build a fulfillment operation while growing a brand is tough. Fulfillment and brand-building are totally different beasts. These days, it’s often smarter and cheaper to outsource, and that’s where we come in.
Q: How does ProShipper help Canadian sellers stand out today?
A: We know the eCommerce world is competitive, especially for Canadian sellers trying to grow in the U.S. and at home. What sets us apart is how hands-on we are. We’re not just a warehouse that ships boxes, we actually work with sellers to improve how they run their businesses and help them scale as we have done successfully with our own eCommerce business.
With our 20 years experience in building an eCommerce brand, we can offer advice and insights that actually work. We’re a real partner, not just another 3PL. We’re experienced and committed to stay nimble and tailor our support for each seller.

Q: What kind of sellers or businesses are the best fit for ProShipper?
A: We’re a great fit for Canadian eCommerce businesses that want reliable, hands-on support. Most of our ideal clients are shipping anywhere from 100 to 20,000 orders a month. Whether you’re a small team or a national brand, if you want a fulfillment partner who pays attention and gets results, we’re here for you.
We also support a wide range of industries. We’ve got experience with outdoor gear, automotive, NHP, consumables and we specialize in big and bulky products. We understand the unique challenges that come with shipping bulky or specialty products, and we’ve built our systems to handle them smoothly.
Big box sellers love that we move fast and stay flexible. Smaller sellers love that we treat them like a priority, not just a number. Either way, we meet businesses where they’re at and help them grow.
Q: What’s the customer experience like when working with ProShipper?
A: When a new seller reaches out to ProShipper, we don’t just rush to move their products. We want to hear their story, how they started, what challenges they’re facing, what goals they have, and what success looks like for them. This helps us design a fulfillment solution that’s built just for their business, not something off the shelf.
We strive to be super easy to work with. We walk clients through every step, from setting up their inventory in our system to connecting their online store. We don’t leave them guessing or feeling overwhelmed.
Every client is assigned a dedicated account manager who knows their business inside and out. This means if there’s ever a question or concern, they talk to someone who truly understands their needs.
What truly sets us apart is our ProAdvisor service. With over 20 years of eCommerce success, we offer clients on-demand access to expert guidance. Our ProAdvisors help sellers optimize listings, resolve marketplace issues, streamline their shipping strategies, and identify opportunities for growth. It’s not just fulfillment, it’s a partnership.
The experience is personal, organized, and fully supportive. That level of care gives sellers the confidence to grow.
Q: What trends are you seeing in the Canadian eCommerce market right now?
A: One of the biggest trends we’re seeing is that more sellers, especially from China, are now focusing on selling directly in Canada. This shift is largely because of the high tariffs the U.S. has imposed on many goods coming from China.
These sellers are turning to Canada because of its lower tariffs and strong online shopping demand. Many view Canada as a gateway to North America.
At the same time, Canadian sellers are stepping up their game, improving shipping speed and customer service to stay competitive.
ProShipper helps all countries succeed in the Canadian market by offering fast, affordable fulfillment that can avoid U.S. tariffs and delivers reliably across North America.

Q: How is technology changing the way ProShipper supports eCommerce businesses?
A: Technology is at the heart of what we do at ProShipper. Our Warehouse Management System (WMS), gives sellers full control over their orders 24/7 through one easy-to-use dashboard.
Clients can do much more than just check inventory and order status. They can cancel orders, put shipments on hold, request reships, or make changes anytime they need, all without having to call or email us. This level of control lets sellers react quickly to customer needs or unexpected changes.
The WMS is designed to prevent mistakes in the warehouse. Every step is scanned and tracked in real time, so the system simply doesn’t allow errors to happen. That’s why we confidently guarantee 100% order accuracy.
Q: What’s next for ProShipper? Where do you see the company in the next 3 to 5 years?
A: We’re focused on growing alongside our clients and adapting to the evolving eCommerce landscape. One of our key priorities is expanding our warehouse network across Canada and the U.S. to offer even faster, more flexible delivery options.
We’re also working toward offering last-mile delivery services, meaning we’ll handle packages all the way to the customer’s doorstep. This added control over the shipping experience will not only improve delivery speed and reliability but also help sellers save even more on shipping costs.
At the same time, we’re investing heavily in smart technology to boost warehouse efficiency and lower fulfillment costs for our clients. The goal is to keep our services not only accurate and dependable, but also highly competitive.
We’re also growing our team to ensure we have the right talent in place to support our clients as we scale. From operations to customer service to strategic support, we’re building a team designed to help sellers succeed.
Ultimately, our vision is to become the go-to fulfillment partner for Canadian eCommerce sellers of all sizes, providing simple, reliable, and cost-effective solutions today, and well into the future.
