An Interview With Sebastien Breteau, The Founder And CEO Of QIMA

Listen to this article

Below is our recent interview with Sebastien Breteau, the Founder and CEO at QIMA:

Q: Sebastien, can you tell us something more about your company?

A: QIMA is a leading provider of supply chain compliance solutions that partners with 15,000 consumer goods and food brands, retailers, and manufacturers to help them make products consumers can trust. In 2020, the company launched QIMAone, a collaborative platform that digitizes quality and compliance management in the supply chain. QIMAone connects buyers to their supply network to monitor and improve product quality, increase supply chain visibility, and reduce operational inefficiencies.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: To bring greater visibility to its supply chain and digitize its quality control program, Guess announced that they integrated QIMAone to bring all players within its supply chain network. As a global fashion brand, Guess sources apparel from hundreds of supplier factories in approximately 30 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. In this operating model, it is vital that the company stays connected to its sourcing footprint to maintain end-to-end visibility across its supplier network.

This integration has enabled them to gain complete supplier visibility. Moreover, the QIMAone mobile app allows inspectors from factories, third-party agencies, and the brand to collect necessary data more efficiently with complete real-time monitoring and collaboration.

Additionally, the data collected on QIMAone produces meaningful analytics and insights for Guess, offering the company better management and projection mechanisms to detect potential issues with suppliers before they become critical risks.

Since the Guess team started using QIMAone, they reworked their checklists with QIMA experts to be more aligned with their quality standards. This has led to gain efficiency and confidence, for instance by reducing the number of misaligned reports results by 30%.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: QIMAone is providing much-needed visibility and control for organizations on their path to digitizing their supply chain. The last two years have been mired with supply chain challenges from shipping delays, rising costs, factory closures, and ethical and environmental compliance issues. Organizations that had a high level of digitization have fared better than those with lower digital penetration across their supply network.

By onboarding their supply chain teams and partners to QIMAone, our clients get:

Supply network mapping to help brands visualize their entire supply chain from raw materials to store, tracking dependency links between all stakeholders to instantly identify where products are manufactured and minimize ethical compliance and quality issues due to unauthorized subcontracting.
Features to better collaborate with suppliers when it comes to managing quality and compliance: in-app trainings, chat rooms and easy-to-use corrective action planning
Actionable analytics built with data collected with the QIMAone app, complemented with insights from over millions of QIMA inspections and audits performed worldwide. With this data, brands can monitor product quality data, track individual supplier and inspector metrics in real-time.
Intelligence to prevent and mitigate quality risk, with a Risk Radar module that uses data to proactively predict potential issues and shortcomings in quality and compliance, and allow brands to take action to mitigate risks.

Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: We can’t say too much about what’s on our plate, but as a client-first agile organization, we’ll keep feeding our roadmap based on our customers’ feedback, to build the best overall quality and compliance platform for global brands, with a core focus on leveraging data to help them make the best decisions.
