Belatrix Software is one of the best-known technology companies in Latin America. Benefiting from close geographic proximity (nearshore services) they help companies in the US and Europe to develop innovative software products. We sat down with Fernando Gonzalez, Director of Marketing at Belatrix Software, to learn more about the company and the world of nearshore innovation services.

Q: For those who don´t know Belatrix, how would you simply describe what you do?

A: Belatrix takes ideas and creates powerful customer experiences by building great software. We are passionate about technology and software, and use our skills to help our clients navigate this rapidly changing world.

Q: What challenges do your customers usually face?

A: Customers come to us because they are struggling with increased customer expectations around software. Software today must deliver a powerful experience every time. Often they simply can´t find the skills they need, so they look to partner with us to help them find these critical skills (for example in user experience, or new programming languages where developers are hard to find). At the same time they are under intense time to market pressures, which creates an incredibly difficult situation. We help companies overcome these challenges.

Q: What advantage does Belatrix Software have over its competitors?

Agile expertise and focus:: Over 25% of employees are certified as Scrum Masters. All employees are trained in Agile (even non-delivery resources, such as sales/marketing are trained in Agile).

Q: What can we expect from Belatrix Software in 2016?

A: Belatrix will continue to grow rapidly in 2016, while also developing new capabilities. We’ve just completed our certification in the security standard ISO 27.001, which is the global standard for information security. It’s particularly important for our customers in industries such as financial services, healthcare, and technology.

Major investments will be made in different areas such as design thinking, open source, automation testing and user experience (UX).
