Cirrus Insight Bridges The Gap Between The Inbox (Gmail And Outlook) And Salesforce

Cirrus Insight is a software-as-a-service company that specializes in email and calendar productivity tools for salespeople. Their niche is connecting Salesforce with Gmail and Outlook. Cirrus Insight was Inc. #41 fastest growing private company in the U.S. in 2016.

Below is our interview with Brandon Bruce, COO and Co-founder of Cirrus Insight:

Q: You’ve recently announced new productivity platform for Gmail; could you tell us something more?

A: Cirrus Insight is a plugin for Gmail and Outlook for sales people. It was the first application to connect Gmail with Salesforce 6 years ago. Today, we serve about 150,000 users that use both Salesforce and Gmail. Over the years, we received a lot of requests from Gmail users who want to use Cirrus Insight but they don’t use Salesforce so we recently launched a Gmail-only version of Cirrus Insight that includes our most popular features:

* Email open alerts and reply tracking

* Drip campaigns with emails and call scripts

* Meeting scheduling via email

* Follow-up reminders

* Email templates with mail merge

Gmail users can get the new Cirrus Insight by installing a simple Chrome extension from our homepage.

Q: What are the key user benefits and features of your platform?

A: Cirrus Insight bridges the gap between the inbox (Gmail and Outlook) and Salesforce. We enable salespeople to work from the inbox and never log in to Salesforce again. Create a new lead? Assign a task? Update an opportunity? Escalate a case? You can do it all from Cirrus Insight in your inbox with full support for Salesforce custom fields, record types, dependent pick lists, custom objects, and more.

Q: Who are the primary clients of Cirrus?

A: We serve over 5,000 organizations including brand names like News Corporation, Shopify, and Girl Scouts. Our users are customer-facing and have job titles in sales, support, and customer success.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: We’re building an all-in-one sales productivity platform with world-class Salesforce integration. We believe that CRM can be a great management reporting tool. We want Cirrus Insight to be “everything but the CRM” – the platform that salespeople use to actually do the selling.

We will continue to build out our platform and we will look for strategic acquisition opportunities. For example, we recently bought a Swedish company called Attach.io that brings document management and real-time attachment tracking to the Cirrus Insight platform. If you’ve ever wanted to track a slide deck or proposal, Attach.io is an amazing platform for seeing what happens to your attachments after you hit send.
