Below is our recent interview with Praful Krishna, CEO at Coseer:
Q: So Praful, your company Coseer has just won Best AI Application in Healthcare at the AIconics awards – can you tell me a little bit more about how you got here?
A: Of course. When people think of AI in pharma, mostly they’re thinking of drug discovery – identifying potential candidates for new drugs. But they’re missing huge opportunities for optimization throughout the entire R&D process, as well as in supply chain and logistics, due diligence in M&A, etc. Coseer was able to take an expensive, work-intensive process like FDA reporting and accelerate it by 3X – freeing up scientists to spend their time in true R&D, where they’re meant to be.
Q: It sounds like those processes – supply chain optimization, M&A due diligence – those aren’t unique to healthcare, right?
A: That’s right. Every organization with “unstructured data” can benefit from Coseer. In essence, we’re all about unlocking knowledge that’s hidden in information that’s not organized or easily searchable. Traditionally, this type of info is hard to make use of on a big scale, so much so that it’s often ignored. It’s a shame, because it contains important insight that can be valuable. Luckily, with Natural Language Search, unstructured data can finally be utilized in a scalable way. Coseer facilitates that, regardless of industry or application.

Q: Interesting. So, back to healthcare – you had some pretty stiff competition at the AIconics. IBM and Tata Consulting were up for other categories, and you were up against Cognizant for Best AI Application in Healthcare. How does it feel to be recognized among these industry giants?
A: It’s an honor, but I have to say I’m proud of what our team has been able to accomplish. It feels really good to be recognized by true industry experts and academics alike. Coseer continues to punch above its weight in the world of AI, which can be tough to do – there’s a lot of buzz right now, but the real world benefits are finally starting to become apparent. One thing that I think really sets us apart in AI is that our vision is actually very human-centric. We are all about offloading boring, repetitive work from human workers. Human creativity and problem-solving are unmatched – but so many people are stuck doing thoughtless tasks, and that’s a waste. It’s why Coseer was developed, to take these boring processes and automate them, bringing them up to the speed of thought. That way, there’s more time for creativity and true innovation throughout enterprise.
Q: That sounds great. Have you seen similar success outside healthcare?
A: Yes. Because the opportunities span so many industries, we’ve been able to tackle some pretty large business problems in all sorts of contexts. For example, we recently teamed up with a SaaS company with a customer response management issue. Their product is really technical, so customers have a lot of questions. They had automated their ticket deflection process to the industry standard, but even so they were only deflecting 10%. We were able to get them up to 60% ticket deflection, saving about $400 per ticket. And this is just one of many examples – we’ve been able to optimize problem-processes in finance, consulting, manufacturing… all sorts of industries.

Q: So what’s next for Coseer?
A: We are very excited about where we are as a company, and are really pushing in all directions possible. Our ambition is to someday make a machine understand all the human knowledge there is. Imagine how powerful that machine will be.
In the meantime we will keep helping healthcare, consulting and other knowledge sectors better manage their information, accelerate their processes and get better outcomes for every stakeholder.
