Dental Monitoring Provides Advanced Solutions Helping Dental Professionals [Re]invent Their Patient Experience

Listen to this article

Dental Monitoring was founded in 2014. It’s the first patented AI-based company to target the needs of orthodontists. Below is our recent interview with Philippe Salah, CEO of Dental Monitoring:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Dental Monitoring?

A: Our suite of software is designed to help dental professionals all along the patient journey: from initial virtual consultations to patient engagement and remote monitoring of all types of treatments. Our mission is to improve the quality of care provided by doctors and monitor the evolution of treatment over time through connected solutions, bridging the communication gap between in-clinic appointments.

Today, Dental Monitoring is present across the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific, with 290 employees in 5 offices (Austin – Texas, Hong Kong, London, Paris and Sydney).

Q: Can you give us more insights into your solutions?

A: Our suite of solutions encapsulates the varied needs of orthodontists, with a particular focus on virtual care services.

For example, SmileMate is a virtual consultation plug-in that offers the possibility to initiate communication with new patients and to screen their oral health, all remotely, via a secure portal. What’s really unique about SmileMate, and a key differentiator from any other virtual consultation solution, is that with only a few quick images of the patients’ mouths submitted through any computer or smartphone, the platform generates a report of their oral health which allows doctors to review each case remotely, and then better organize, triage and book future appointments.
Vision uses AI technology to generate ultra-realistic smile predictions and appliance simulations with just a few photos. It boosts case acceptance of orthodontic treatment with simulations that use patients’ actual teeth to preview their smiles during and after treatment, resulting in instant engagement.

Dental Monitoring includes a patient app, practice dashboard and the patented ScanBox that allow doctors to remotely monitor all treatment types with time-lapsed tracking for more frequent touchpoints with patients. Dental Monitoring also enhances compliance and improves convenience with scan capabilities that work from anywhere and anytime. Ultimately, this solution increases practice efficiency with the automation of repetitive tasks, while maintaining control through pre-set protocols.

Since Covid-19 hit, we’ve seen a lot of new players proposing solutions to help maintain care while respecting social distancing and lockdowns everywhere in the world.
This shows that there is a real need to bring remote systems to the world of dental care, and we’re proud that Dental Monitoring started promoting this six years ago.

Dental Monitoring’s solutions are powerful and accurate thanks to our unique AI engine. Not only do they improve practice efficiency by automating repetitive tasks, but they also allow all non-clinical procedures to go virtual. With our solutions , doctors grow their practice, enhance treatment plans, redefine convenience and they enrich patient experience all at once.

Q: Who is your ideal user and why?

A: SmileMate, Vision and Dental Monitoring are open platforms, and they are treatment agnostic. Orthodontists, from private practices to large DSOs, can use them. All our software is flexible and customizable, which means there is not just one way to use them, but as many possibilities as there are different practices worldwide.
