Direct Dispatch is a car shipping company created to make auto transportation easier and more affordable to people in the US. Direct Dispatch works by connecting customers to a carrier directly, thus eliminating the need for a broker and reducing the overall cost.
Below is our interview with Junior Alexis, CEO of Direct Dispatch:
Q: What is Direct Dispatch and how it works?
A: Direct Dispatch is a disintermediary of the auto transport brokerage business. Let me explain, 30 years ago, if you wanted to buy 100 shares of stock, you called your broker, and the broker placed the order. You paid a lot for that order, often 1% of the transaction value or more. Now that computerized trading has arrived, you can sign into your account, punch in a few keystrokes, and the order is in. When the transaction is completed, your cost to the broker may be 0.1% or less. As computers do the work, consumers get the savings.
Direct Dispatch makes booking a car carrier just as easy. If you are a snowbird looking to bring two cars to Florida for the winter, you can drive one and ship one. With shipping your vehicle, you have two choices. You can call an auto transport broker who will mark up the bill by $150 to $200 for placing the order. Or, you can go online at www.direct-dispatch.com, answer a few quick questions, and book your trip with us. The difference is, we only charge you 35% of what the broker will charge you for the same service and the same federally licensed trucking firms. We love saving our customers money.

Q: You’ve recently acquired exclusive ownership of Desert Skies’ digital bill of lading app; could you tell us something more?
A: The auto transport business shares many similarities with the moving van industry. If there is a scratch or a dent on a car, you have to prove it occurred before or after the trucker picked up the car. Our digital bill of lading offers a permanent record of every transaction. This allows our truckers the ability to take pictures and provide descriptions of any dings or dents. Every transport requires a bill of lading. The technology allows us to combine the legal requirement with pictures. With easy and efficient documentation, the transaction proves to the customer that their vehicle is in safe hands. Our new app makes everyone’s life much easier with the before and after photos.
For the trucker, our app is made to help in many ways. Over time, we will have multiple services for truckers such as scheduling, tracking costs, and other services. And for 89 cents or less, our app can save a trucker dozens of hours responding to a consumer complaint. Our goal is to make trucking easier and more profitable for everyone.

Q: What geographic markets are you focusing on currently?
A: Direct Dispatch is available for the entire US continent. It’s a little hard to drive cars to Alaska and Hawaii. However, those are unique markets for auto transport. Someday, we hope to enter the Canadian market, but that will be a few years down the line.

Q: What can we expect form you in next 12 months?
A: Over the next 12 months, we expect to begin advertising on a large scale in markets besides TV and radio spots. We want to reach the 5 million transported cars in the aftermarket each year. Though that is a modest percentage of all the cars in the US, we will focus our advertising on those who are likely to move a vehicle.
We also plan to hire a handful of people to scale our business. Even a computerized business needs people to grow. We expect to remain in South Florida. However, we will expand our office.
Q: What’s the best thing about Direct Dispatch that people might not know about?
A: Direct Dispatch is a locally owned business. I was born and raised in Boca Raton. I attended and graduated from Spanish River High School in 2002. For the past 5 years, I owned a broker company in the auto transport relocation industry. Between being a broker and having close ties with truck drivers, who own and operate their own trucks, I was granted an 360 perspective. Our system is built with technology that will make the life of a trucker and his/her company as simple and user friendly as possible.
As Direct Dispatch continues its success, we plan on growing and unleashing a substantial amount of technology into other broker driven industries in the near future.
