SensorInsight IIOT platform product line helps companies elevate their business and increase their intelligence by integrating disparate data, analyzing info in real-time and visualizing insights for immediate action to allow improved decision making and process optimization. Below is our interview with Steven Gerhardt, CEO of Element Blue:

Steven-Gerhardt

Q: Steven, tell us something more about Element Blue and your history?

A: Element Blue has provided our customers continuous services since forming in 2000 as Ixion. From 2000 to 2012, the company grew as a Premier IBM partner in Web application implementations with enterprise software services and related collaboration technologies. We produced many significant implementations for Fortune 500 corporations throughout this period and grew in recognition across North America. In 2012, the company re-branded as “Element Blue” (from Ixion) and has since continued to rapidly expand with five additional country offices. Today majority ownership is held by four operating partners based in Houston, Texas, and the company has expanded sales and delivery offices in San Jose, Costa Rica; Toronto, Ontario; Nairobi, Kenya; Dubai, UAE; and Hyderabad, India.

Currently, Element Blue develops end-to-end technology and provides continuous services to advance the energy and utilities, healthcare, transportation, water, public section, manufacturing and retail industries around the world. Our SensorInsight® product line helps companies elevate their business and increase their intelligence by integrating disparate data, analyzing info in real-time and visualizing insights for immediate action to allow improved decision making and process optimization. RightSensor™ LLC, an Internet of Things (IoT) hardware supplier that delivers custom and pre-configured sensor systems and data communications capability, tracks and locates high value assets, report equipment status and gathers key metrics from a designated environment. The collected data is merged through CloudBlue™, hosted and managed by Element Blue and connected to the SensorInsight® platform to provide a complete package of hardware, storage, software and connectivity.

Element Blue also offers Digital Marketing Experience solutions to build portals and information sharing platforms for web, mobile and digital signage to attract, manage and coordinate teams and clients. We implement and manage cognitive computing and analytics solutions using IBM Watson technology to collect, classify and correlate structured and unstructured data across an organization to ensure seamless enterprise content and records management.

Q: Could you explain the function and advantages of your SensorInsight Software?

A: Our SensorInsight® product line allows companies to increase their intelligence and decision making abilities by integrating disparate data, analyzing info in real-time and visualizing insights for immediate action to optimize business processes.

SensorInsight® by Element Blue is a complete Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) Platform that integrates data in near real-time from sensors and systems to provide a holistic picture across the entire domain. Our industry packs are tailored to solve specific but common industry issues. The platform bridges the gap between instrumented systems and applications with a homogeneous layer above the operational systems.

SensorInsight® is an exciting, low cost technology. Connected objects gather more data, from more places, working together to realize tremendous insights for the organization, such as early detection of possible issues, increased response to problems and better maintenance for a healthy and efficient environment.

Q: Who is your ideal customer and why?

A: Our ideal customer has a desire and pressure for innovation. The pressure for change generally comes from competition or time-to-market drivers in businesses. Our opportunities grow when these qualifiers come together with smart innovative-minded individuals who are visionary or simply motivated to adopt new ways to deal with complex operational issues. In the businesses we serve, software solutions and automation appear in nearly every new process or as the key to a new operational trend. The disruption with IOT architectures is driving immense opportunity in cost-reduction for acquiring and aggregating data from the field operation and manufacturing arenas.

Q: What’s the best thing about Element Blue that people might not know about?

A: The best thing about Element Blue is the tremendous talent and passion of the people who work here. They are smart, innovative and dedicated to excellence providing world class solutions for solving IT business problems. Our teams are certified across a wide-expanse of technologies and solution delivery approaches.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) represents a great opportunity for Element Blue. Organizations of every size and industry have operational data that is hidden, locked away, or just plain ignored. Most organizations manage different systems for different parts of their operations, many of which are inflexible or closed, existing in silos, making data sharing and cross-platform analysis virtually impossible.

As the vision of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) evolves, organizations must learn to connect the physical world to the internet and cloud-based services, using analytic back-ends to become more efficient and stay relevant in the new technology age. For proper implementation, systems manufactured often many decades apart must connect, incorporating components that may operate under extreme conditions or environments.
