G2A.COM Plans To Include AI Product Recommendations, Digital Content, 3D Blueprints And Gadgets To Its Marketplace

G2A.COM are a global digital gaming marketplace with over 47,000 digital products available today. G2A have become the fastest growing gaming marketplace in the world, with over 700 employees from 33 different countries. Below is our interview with the CEO and co-founder of G2A, Bartosz Skwarczek:

Q: How would you describe the role of G2A in the gaming industry?

A: G2A are about improving the gaming industry and enhancing the user experience within it. We provide a secure, dynamic platform that connects 10 million buyers and 250,000 sellers of digital products, be they games for PCs or consoles, subscriptions, prepaid cards or software.

Q: How does the concept of G2A Marketplace work?

A: While in the past G2A were a retailer, it is important to clarify that now, there are only third party sellers on our site. We do not purchase any products ourselves and sell them on the marketplace, we just deliver the platform for others to do so. Simply put, G2A are like the eBay of gaming – a meeting point for buyers and sellers.

The main benefit of our marketplace is that the cost of goods for consumers is driven down by competition. It’s only natural to see low prices in any marketplace, virtual and physical, where there are 250,000 sellers competing with each other. What is crucial however, is that there is attention to user experience. We are constantly looking for ways to improve this by regularly benchmarking and comparing our marketplace to other marketplaces, developers and publishers.

This is one of the reasons why today G2A have more than 47,000 different digital products available for purchase, making us the No.1 global digital gaming marketplace in the world.

Q: What does G2A offer developers?

A: G2A Marketplace is a widespread entity and we felt it was time to let developers and publishers get in on the act. Thus, G2A Direct, a program for developer support, was launched on 29th July of this year. Designed specifically with publishers and developers in mind, it allows them to create an official profile in our marketplace. It’s a storefront that’s easy to use, buyer-friendly, and accessible on both desktop and mobile devices.

G2A Direct lets these publishers and developers who sign up an opportunity to apply a fee of up to 10% on any of their products sold on G2A Marketplace, allowing them to monetize all third-party transactions. Furthermore, via G2A Direct, they enjoy a revenue share of 89.2% from game code sales.

Additionally, developers also benefit from the following: premium positioning on product pages, full inventory control and access to one of the youngest, most dynamic gaming audiences in the world. There is also a dedicated account manager on hand as well as round-the-clock support.

After its launch we were overwhelmed with applications to join G2A Direct. We hadn’t realized just how many developers had already seen G2A as a potential partner and were waiting for the opportunity to join our marketplace and build a store in it. We received over 2,000 applications and from those we now have over 20 dedicated developer stores in the marketplace with more being added each week. This may not sound like much compared with the volume of requests, but building stores in a marketplace is a more involved process than becoming an individual seller. We are nevertheless finding more ways to speed this up and are confident that our G2A Direct community will have grown to over 100 branded stores by early 2017.

Q: How would you convince people to start using G2A?

A: We are much more than a digital marketplace so whether you are a developer, publisher or gamer, G2A have all the bases covered. Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: I have to be careful about revealing too much here! One huge industry in which we have already invested over $10m is eSports, so naturally we’d like to get further involved by exploring the many opportunities for growth that exist within this arena.

One major development on the cards is the expansion of our marketplace to include AI product recommendation, digital content, 3D blueprints and physical gadgets. G2A TV is another exciting project in store, although this is very much in the early stages of development and I can’t go into much detail at this time.

We are of course always on the lookout for new partners and streamers to work with as well as open to supporting more charity and community events.

G2A have won many awards but the most important one is for customer experience; we will always have an open-doors policy for feedback on how to improve. Our business model is founded on the needs of the customer, be they buyers or sellers, and their views shape the way we operate. This is something that will never change.
