Tell us something more about your Gestures app?
We just recently launched in the App store after presenting at SXSW. Our company Gestures Inc. is dedicated to building minimalistic and beautifully designed mobile apps through gesture related technology.
Our patent pending Universal Gestures Language technology is the base for all the apps we will be releasing. We started by looking at all the camera apps in the market and taking a 180 approach to how we could build a better, faster, and more exciting experience for picture taking. Because there is no buttons or cluttered interface in our camera app users can quickly and effortlessly navigate from capturing, to editing, to sharing an image.
By developing our apps based on this language we are able to provide a more efficient and effortless experience for any user. It’s no secret that major tech giants patent different gestures for various ideas all the time, but what they haven’t done (even for their very own hardware) is provide a general guideline for various gestures so that one can simply remember, and apply those very gestures to multiple apps. Our UGL will do exactly that – We will base the same gesture movements and assign them to functions that can not only be used for that app but can be learned and used for the next apps we release.
How are you funded and how big Gestures team is?
We are currently a team of 5 (3 co-founders, a lead iOS developer, and myself). At the moment we are bootstrapping – and by we I mean most of the funding comes from our CEO Sung Kim, and we had roughly $10.000 come from a Kickstarter campaign at the end of 2013.
What we can expect from you in the future?
We’re currently working on a social networking app – it’s going to re-define how we interact with the social world :) After that we have some other apps lined up to build as well.
