Q: Marisa, how would you describe Gnoments in your own words?
A: Gnoments is about creating fun and thoughtful moments for the one you love!
It is no question that life is busy. As couples we often forget to stop and take a moment to incorporate the little things that make a relationship special. These little Gnomes are meant to enter your home and serve as a big reminder that no matter how busy things get it’s important to bring your attention back to each other. The Gnomes are a tangible outlet that prompts you to do special things for each other, no matter big or small. They are symbolic to the purpose they serve. Their magnetic hands always bring them back to each other and their cute playful presence grabs your attention as a daily reminder that’s hard to ignore. Whether you send a Gnomification through our website, plant the gnome with a special note, or use the embedded NFC chip to program a special message for your honey, as the recipient you feel special to find a thoughtful gnome waiting for you. Romance is about fun, excitement, and all the little things that make up the beautiful story of your love. Q: What was the inspiration behind building Gnoments?
A: As the parents of two children, we spend a lot of energy doing sweet things for our children and ensuring they feel loved every bit of the way. Often times at the end of the day, even with the best of intentions, we forget to spend just as much effort on our own relationship. Life is so busy and the responsibility list is long, but the truth is it only takes a moment or two to do something thoughtful. If only we could remember between running our own business, soccer practices, homework, dinner and long list that never ends! So we thought how fun would it be if there was a special way to reminder each other? Something that stuck out as gentle nudge we both needed. Something more fun than a to-do list or memo in a planner, and that stuck out more in a much cuter way than a Post-it stuck the fridge. At that moment we both began working on Gnoments.
Q: What can we expect from Gnoments in next six months? What are your plans?
A: The possibilities for Gnoments is endless, and every day they help us dream up new ideas. We have quite a few exciting expansions for Gnoments, but we don’t want to spoil all the fun and release that information yet. The Gnomes really do take on a life of their own, so we are letting their magical ways lead us on this exciting journey right along with you. Keep both eyes on the lookout because there is definitely more Gnome and relationship fun on the way!
Q: How is the response to Gnoments so far?
A: We just launched 2 weeks ago and have had tremendous response! The Gnomes themselves really peek curiosity, and the interest on social media and from the press has been very gratifying. We will soon be launching a campaign in Times Square to promote Gnoments, and hope all of you will join in on the fun! #Gnoments

Q: How would you convince the reader to start using Gnoments?
A: Relationships are wonderful but like a garden they need to be tended to in order to bloom. It really is the little things that help us feel special, and taking a moment to express that doesn’t take but more than 5 minutes of our time. The Gnoments Gnomes are there as sweet reminders to pause and do something nice for the one you love. It makes for a great game because once you receive one, you are eager to reciprocate. It’s amazing how quickly the Gnomes become part of your relationship. First they served as a reminder, and now I find myself first thinking I want to do something sweet and then dreaming up a way incorporate the gnomes into it as well. My persuasive suggestion is try it! Get yourselves Gnoments and start creating special moments! There is nothing to lose and so much to be gained.
Q: How does the NFC Chip work?
A: Each gnome has an NFC chip implanted in them. At present, nearly all Android and Windows smartphones are NFC enabled which allow users to scan and read NFC chips. Through the use of the NFC Tools Application, one can easily program links to the chip for the recipient to scan and view. There is a wide range of links that can be programmed from videos, sound clips, photos, websites, map locations. You will notice I didn’t include the iPhone? Although iPhone 6 are NFC enabled, they have only released the use of the technology for Apple Pay. Everyone in the community hopes it is just a matter of time before Apple allows their users the full power and capability of what NFC technology can do. We are currently using our cute Gnomes to try and persuade Apple to #applefreethenfc so you will see this hash tag on our posts. We welcome you to use the hash tag and help us get the NFC technology to iPhones as well. Whether you have NFC capability or not, there are many ways to use Gnoments to create fun and thoughtful moments!

Q: Are there any other ways for users to use technology with Gnoments if they do not have an NFC enabled phone?
A: Yes, through our Gnomification tool. Gnomifications is a messaging tool that can be created and delivered through the mobile friendly Gnoments.com website. Once you have registered your Gnomes, you can send email or text messages that can include links such as videos, sound, photos, websites and more; similar to what is capable with the NFC Chip. So, you could send a Gnomification from work to your honey that says, “Meet me for dinner at 7pm” and include a link to your favorite restaurant. The recipient will receive an email or text message that says: You’ve been Gnomified, along with your message. If you took the time to create your own Gnomitar in the mobile-friendly website, your custom Gnomitar will also show up in the email message.
Gnomifications are a great feature of Gnoments as it allows you deliver a special message no matter where you are or what type of phone you have.
