Happeo Combines Intranet, Enterprise Social Networking, Collaboration And Targeted Distribution Of News Into Employee Communications Platform

Below is our recent interview with Jonathan Davies, Global Communications Manager at Happeo:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Happeo?

A: Happeo combines intranet, enterprise social networking, collaboration and targeted distribution of news into a community-powered employee communications platform. We are redefining the traditional “intranet” category, by putting emphasis on the community-aspect of the platform, as we believe that business success in today’s competitive markets depends majorly on a company’s ability to engage, align and retain talent. Our platform enables internal communicators, HR and leaders to both distribute news top down, but also leverage the power of a strong employee community to create a high-performing digital culture where employees feel part of a team, feel their voice is heard and can crowdsource knowledge and information.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your intranet software?

A: Happeo unifies a digital workplace and collaboration platform into a social intranet. We’ll skip the buzzwords and keep it simple: it’s your company‘s forever-homepage – the only browser tab you need to communicate and collaborate remotely. Employees connect by posting in channels and collaborate through deep integrations with Google Workspace and Slack. No need to open a tab for Google Docs, you can stay in Happeo and work on that big proposal, fancy slide deck or spreadsheet. It’s fully responsive and has a mobile app, so it makes your workforce independent of location and device.

Q: What are the main features of your intranet software solution?

A: Our key features are:

Pages: An intuitive drag-and-drop page builder that lets you create intranet pages with ease. No technical knowledge required, no IT resources needed.

People: This is Happeo’s automated employee directory. Profiles are created based on information in your Google Groups, including information such as department, job title, contact details, name and several customizable fields. A great example of the latter is “skills”, so you can actually see which expertise your colleagues possess.

Channels: Here’s where the magic happens. Happeo’s Channels acts as your Enterprise Social Network. A place where employees can communicate and collaborate in the same fashion as you would on popular social media channels. Typically, organizations will create Channels based on projects, interests and discussions.

Analytics: Our comprehensive analytics suite is one of the most advanced in the industry. We don’t just show platform engagement, we take it a step further with our Search analytics. This shows you which content your employees search for, whether it returns results, top keywords and much more.

Q: Can you give us a few examples of current and future use cases?

A: We have quite a few use cases, but to name a few: a mobile intranet app, a digital workplace, and a content management system. We’re especially proud of the Happeo app, as it really allows for flexibility and to never miss a beat. Whether you’re commuting to work, or patiently waiting at an airport, you have all the information you need to stay up-to-date at the tip of your fingers. Which ties into a digital workplace. We all know the struggles of working from home, and using Happeo means being able to do all your most important work just from one tab — sending a slack message, looking up a colleague and starting a Google Hangouts call, visiting Channels to see big updates…it’s all right there! Including all your company’s data, cue the content management system. With our deep Google Workspace integration, everything from your drive is right there in Happeo. With all these features, companies use Happeo to:

• Create their centralized source of truth / knowledge base
• Increase employee engagement, even when everyone is remote
• Enable more efficient project management. Certain customers will create dedicated Pages per project-team, which include their team’s Calendar, social feed, documents and information – all in one place
• Increase alignment by making sure important news is never missed, or lost in a flurry of other messages
• Lastly, to activate the company’s internal ambassadors. Because Happeo is so easy to use, the Internal Comms team can focus on coaching and helping people improve their communications skills, instead of learning how to deal with the platform.

Q: What can we expect from Happeo in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: For starters, we’re growing our team. With our recent and upcoming new joiners, the next six months will focus on further improving the solid base that we’ve created. Once that’s been set, it’s time to look towards the future – and we have a lot of really exciting innovations planned. We’re pretty sure it’s nothing that the industry has ever seen before – in a good way! :)
