HoneyBook Has Recently Raised $155 Million In Series D Funding, To Accelerate Product Development And Increase Internal Resources

Below is our recent interview with Oz Alon, CEO & Co-Founder of HoneyBook:

Q: This is the first time we have spoken. Can you provide a brief overview of HoneyBook?

A: We started HoneyBook in 2013 to solve a problem that we’d identified among independent service-based businesses. Unlike an online or physical store, the product a service provider is selling in their skills and expertise and their inventory is the time it takes to deliver that service. In order to grow, they need a platform that understands their unique needs and offers tools to help them save time, get organized and provide their clients with an exceptional experience. We built HoneyBook to do just that and our all-in-one platform includes powerful workflow capabilities, simple scheduling, customizable templates for brochures, contracts, invoices and more and easy online payment processing. We’re on a mission to empower independent service-based businesses with the tools, resources and community support they need to be successful doing what they love.

Q: What are the key features of your business management platform?

A: HoneyBook is an all-in-one client experience and financial management platform, and we support each step in the booking process from first inquiry to final payment. Our core features like workflow automations, customized scheduling, on-brand contracts and invoices and easy payment processing are designed to help business owners streamline their operations while providing their clients with an exceptional experience along the way. Our goal is to help business owners spend less time on administrative tasks and more time doing what they love.

Q: You’ve recently raised $155 Million in Series D funding; can you tell us something more?

A: Despite an immensely challenging year that threatened the survival of many businesses, independent service-based businesses exemplified strength, resilience and an unwavering commitment to their craft. Their resolve and community spirit inspire our team daily and we are proud to play a role in powering their continued growth. In fact, HoneyBook members booked more than $1 billion in business on the platform in the last nine months alone. We’ll use the funding to accelerate product development and increase internal resources, like hiring, so that we can continue meeting the unique needs of this diverse workforce. In addition, we’re humbled to have reached a more than $1 billion valuation. This all goes to show that the service-based business sector has the potential to reach new heights as our economy bounces back, and we plan to use these funds to support them every step of the way.

Q: Could you tell us something more about your pricing plans?

A: We offer three pricing plans to cater to the unique needs of our members’ businesses: starter, unlimited and unlimited annual. Each plan offers access to our full suite of client experience and financial management tools but only our unlimited plans include unlimited concierge support and transactions as well as the option to add additional team members.

Q: What are your plans and goals for the future?

A: Our mission is unchanged and we remain committed to empowering independent service-based businesses with the tools, resources and community support they need to grow and thrive doing what they love. We have an exciting product roadmap ahead of us and we’re looking forward to meeting the needs of our members in new and even more impactful ways.
