iBaby Labs is a manufacturer of parent-friendly, mobile baby products. iBaby is the only company in baby monitoring industry that uses Apple’s MFI (Made for iPhone, iPad, iPod) technology. Recently iBaby introduced its first cloud-based baby monitor, making it the first company to step into app-enabled baby monitoring. Below is our interview with Zabi Niazi, Digital Marketing Manager at iBaby Labs:

Q: Where did the concept of iBaby Labs begin?

A: In 2011, with the mobile phones booming, we were looking into finding a solution to make parents lives easier. After an extensive amount of research, we found that there is a big need for app-enabled baby monitors in the market considering the lifestyle of millennials. With that in mind, iBaby was founded , as an emerging name in the video monitoring and wellness market focusing on ‘mobile-centric’ products. Since its conception, iBaby’s mission has been to revolutionize the family care and wellness industry by bringing comfort and convenience to the ‘on-the-go’ families. That year, iBaby introduced its first cloud-based baby monitor, making it the first company to step into app-enabled baby monitoring and later expanding into family care. From the first through all subsequent generations of iBaby products in the last 5 years, Apple, Inc. has introduced and sold them through its stores worldwide. Beginning 2015, iBaby once again set itself apart by expanding its product range into smart home categories such as home & pet video monitors, audio monitors, and air quality and ionic purifiers.

Q: Could you explain the most prominent advantages of your iBaby monitors?

A: iBaby is the only company in baby monitoring industry that uses Apple’s MFI (Made for iPhone, iPad, iPod) technology. This makes its installation extremely easy for families. We spent about a year, learning about and utilizing this technology so our customers can conveniently use our products. This makes installation happen in less than 60 seconds. More so, users do not even need to know their Wi-Fi password or have to waste time having to find their router’s information. All it takes is to install our iBaby Care app on their mobile device, connect a USB cable to their mobile device and the monitor, and we take care of the rest. As far as the security of our technology, we use Amazon AWS servers and utilize layers of encrypted connections to make sure our customers’ privacy is fully protected.

iBaby’s big advantage is that our technology keeps with the emerging “Connected Home” trend, with sensor enabled alerts and allow user to enjoy the flexibility and portability that they have become accustomed to through years using cell phones. With sound, motion, temperature, humidity and air quality based alerts, they now see and hear everything that is happening in the child’s room and if something changes they are alerted instantaneously. No need to have an additional bulky display that some competitors use when they can view everything on their mobile device instantaneously. Even when talking on the phone, the app can be conveniently kept open for viewing or they can receive alerts in the background. Parents can feel comfortable with the sense of complete awareness that our products offer.

Q: You’ve recently introduced the world’s smallest air purifier; could you tell us something more about the iBaby Air?

A: iBaby Air is an indoor smart Wi-Fi air quality monitor and ionic purifier that detects volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as carbon monoxide, alcohol, and eight other elements. For everyday use, it purifies the air with negative ions, tracks the air quality, temperature and humidity in the room in real-time but also allows the user to create charts so that they can see and track changes over time. It is the smallest air purifier on the market, standing only 6 inches and unlike other similar products , doesn’t need any cleaning or filter replacement. The monitor is equipped with RGB LED lights that even allows it to be used night light and with its two-way audio it can be used as an audio monitor or for playing music.

Q: What geographic markets are you focusing on currently?

A: Our focus is on millennials, parents, grandparents and pet owners. Millennials are the biggest focus and we believe our baby monitoring and our family, home, and pet monitoring options will serve them well, especially since all of our products and applications have been designed keeping with the trends and technologies they have grown accustomed to using in their everyday lives.
