Below is our recent interview with Brian Korbelik, President & COO at Precision Additive:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Precision Additive is an industrial 3D printing company based in Englewood, Colorado that provides fully-functional parts to industries including aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, electronics, machine shops, and other manufacturers. We are very passionate about American manufacturing and helping OEM’s improve their supply chain efficiency and lower their production costs. Oftentimes, it can take 1 to 2 months for companies to receive parts that are traditionally manufactured. With 3D printed parts, companies can receive parts in a matter of days rather than weeks. We use the best industrial printers and materials and our primary focus is customer satisfaction. We believe that when we fully take care of our customers, trust will be built over the long term and this will lead to our success and the culture we want to create for our company and employees.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: We launched our company in June 2021 with the vision to meet the industrial markets seeking fully-functional parts and rapid prototyping services. Our parts are produced with the highest strength composite materials and can replace parts that are traditionally machined through subtractive manufacturing methods. In addition, our parts are oftentimes lighter in weight and cost less. We believe there is a significant market for additive manufacturing because it helps localize supply chains and it makes it possible to provide on-demand production and design services.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: We offer both additive manufacturing and design services. For our 3D printing processes, we offer Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). Our base composite materials for FDM printing include Onyx, Onyx FR (fire retardant), and Onyx ESD (electrostatic discharge). Onyx is a strong industrial-grade material that can be used for many applications. These Onyx materials can also be reinforced with continuous fibers to make them even stronger. Our continuous fiber options consist of Carbon Fiber, Aramid Fiber (Kevlar®), HSHT (high strength high temperature) Fiberglass, and Fiberglass. Our FDM process yields parts of greater strength than 6061 T6 aluminum and therefore can be a great light-weight substitute for metal parts. In addition, FDM parts can be designed and printed with metal hardware integrated into them. For our SLS printing, we offer Nylon 12 material. This method and material are great for parts with complex geometries and/or delicate features. SLS is also a good choice for printing instant assemblies. For our design services, we offer CAD design and part editing using Solidworks and Materialise Magics software. Customers can simply upload parts through our smart RFQ form on our website. If the parts are ready to go, we can start to print them. However, if the customer would like to discuss their project in more detail, we can meet with them over the phone, online or in person to assure we are meeting all of their needs for their project and desired outcome. We love working with our customers directly and some of our best projects are the ones in which we can have regular communication with them and develop a connection over time.
Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: Our top priority over the next 6 months and in the future will always be to address our current customers’ needs. Through this, we want to foster and develop these relationships over time. We will also be continuously optimizing our web presence with valuable content so we can provide potential clients and visitors with the most up to date information and offerings. This will help us develop transparency and further enable us to guide our customers through product design and printing their parts each step of the way. In the next 6 months we also plan to receive our ITAR and ISO 9001 certifications so we can better serve the industries we work with.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: My brother, Jason, and I own Precision Additive. We grew up in a manufacturing family and know the value of nurturing a company, its employees, and its customers continuously. We are never satisfied with where we are at because we know we can always be better and therefore, we are always looking for the next way we can improve our company culture and customer experience. We have a value at our company that we live and work by – continuous improvement and innovation. We want to be the best industrial 3D printing company available. As this becomes more widely known, we are excited to see the future of Precision Additive and what we are able to do for our customers and the world of additive manufacturing.
