LE-AP: An AI-driven Learning Experience Platform Set To Enhance Corporate Training

Listen to this article

Magic EdTech has developed an Artificial Intelligence-based learning experience platform that addresses the limitations of existing LMSes. The platform makes corporate training interfaces responsive to the learner’s behavior and needs, while also making learning personalized, intuitive and engaging. Harish Agrawal, Director and Global Head of Products at Magic EdTech, talks about new AI-driven learning experience platform, LE-AP and what it has to offer that is significantly ahead of corporate e-learning solutions available today.

Q: Could you please briefly introduce your company and what drove you to build LE-AP?

A: Magic EdTech has been in the business of helping organizations build digital learning products for over two decades. Our journey started with a simple mission of making learning much more fun, engaging and interactive through the use of technology. Today, our B2B SaaS platform, MagicBox, focused on the K12 and higher education industry, already has over 3 million students accessing learning content.

This success prompted us to look at an area of learning that is still underserved – corporate training. Businesses of all sizes need to train employees, whether it is to onboard a new recruit, fill in skill gaps or train the team on their internal products or initiatives. What our research told us that the employee values a company that invests in their growth and development. We also learned that they prefer learning experiences that are interactive and personalized. Most employees don’t even consider internal LMS for their learning. They would rather go ask someone senior whenever they need some information or help.

LE-AP was born from this. It is an AI-driven learning experience platform that brings enterprise learning to life not just by making the entire process very interactive and engaging, but also making it very flexible. So, each individual can learn at their own pace and find help they need when they need it. And, the AI component continues to improve the process, adapting to the needs and preferences of the learners.

In short, what we have with LE-AP is an integrated, disruptive digital learning ecosystem that a business can customize and deploy very quickly, and in a cost-effective way. So, we are offering a learning experience platform (LXP) “as a service,” which eases the creation and implementation of corporate training programs that pique the interest of employees and motivates learners.

Q: You have called LE-AP as an LXP. How would you characterize your software solution and how is it a differentiator in the market?

A: Well, LE-AP is much more than just a learning management system (LMS). It doesn’t simply help with administration and delivery of learning programs. With AI at its heart, it provides a tailored learning experience. The AI algorithms in LE-AP are powered by a combination of deep learning, machine learning and natural language processing. The virtual assistant, KEA, is a chatbot that actually works as the learner’s personal learning facilitator.

Other facilities that the LXP offers is AI-powered deep search capabilities, which means that the learning content is automatically analyzed and categorized to constantly improve on content discoverability. In addition, the learning content is analyzed and tags are automatically created. This auto-tagging facility helps the learner discover content relevant to their interests and professional growth.

It also provides analytics, such that the organization can track learning activities, identify the content that is most popular or least viewed, find skill gaps and therefore improve on training programs for maximum effectiveness.

LE-AP as an LXP takes corporate training to a whole new level, while keeping the process of creating, distributing and modifying content extremely easy and quick.

Q: What were the business challenges in the current learning era that made you develop an indigenous platform like LE-AP?

A: While there are hundreds of LMS solution available today, what we discovered was that they were nothing more than mere delivery vehicles for content. What’s worse is that there is no focus on the user experience. Learning management cannot be a one-size-fits-all solution because each individual learns in a different way. What was needed was a learning experience platform that was more than just managing content delivery.

Also, what the currently available LMS solutions lacked was a means to make the content interactive and engaging for the learner. Most of these solutions depend on some internal training department creating learning content, most often these departments don’t have the domain / product knowledge to be able to create learning content. Learner and learning needs are rapidly changing and the L&D department needs to respond with the same speed and agility with which businesses and products are evolving As I mentioned earlier, the millennial learner looks for very different ways of learning and of being engaged. The existing solutions have failed to adapt to the changing needs of the end-user.

So, we set out to create a flexible and accommodating platform that would not only ease the process of distributing multimedia content, it would ensure content creation for learning doesn’t sound like a very intimidating task, while offering integration with other systems, rich analytical tools and reduction in the burden and cost of implementing training programs.

Q: Why should a business choose LE-AP over other learning solutions?

A: LE-AP as an LXP is focused on providing the most effective learning experience. To achieve this, it is compatible across devices and operating systems, including iOS, Android and Windows. It eases the process of creating mobile app-based learning modules to enable access for learners at any time and from anywhere.

In addition, with cloud-based storage, all content can be easily organized in one place, making it convenient to add, modify and distribute content of all types. It also offers key learner analytics and reports, which can help identify gaps as well as effective content. Organizations can even assign specific course elements to particular groups, based on their learning needs, rather than having to create entire learning modules. And, updating is simple, in real time, with a touch of a button.

Lastly, I want to emphasize the advantage AI brings to the platform, which is lacking in LMS solutions. It automatically clusters content for better search results, while enhancing the user experience and enabling content authoring. Artifacts are automatically meta-tagged using voice recognition and NLP for searchability, so content recommendations and search results are optimized.

Q: What kind of customers do you aim and what benefits would your software bring to your customers?

A: Given how flexible LE-AP is as an LXP, our target market includes all types and sizes of businesses, from tech companies to retail organizations, healthcare, manufacturing and even service providers. Any corporate entity that needs to train their workforce can customize LE-AP to their needs.

LE-AP allows product managers and business heads, who have maximum knowledge about their business, domain and product, to build training programs for the workforce, customer support, sales team as well as customers.

With trackable learning content, both learners and course creators can mutually benefit, making learning more effective than traditional LMS modules.

Q: What do you think are the challenges faced by today’s workforce? How will LE-AP incorporate these trends?

A: Firstly, studies show and L&D managers agree that the skills necessary for today’s workforce is very different from those of their previous generations. In addition, today’s employee values opportunities for learning and growth much more than monetary incentives. At the same time, they prefer an independent, self-directed approach to learning.

Another key aspect to keep in mind is how tech-savvy millennials are. They are called “digital natives” for a reason. They definitely prefer technology-based solutions, even for learning. And, they appreciate the ability of technology to personalize the learning experience and make it engaging. Most importantly, they don’t like to be passive learners.

LE-AP is a platform for the millennial and GEN-Z workforce, who need to learn on the go. It is also meant for companies that want to create a smooth onboarding experience for their customers. The platform empowers sales and customer support teams and improves their online training experience, while helping HR teams drive L&D initiatives.

LE-AP is bound to transform the future of enterprise learning with artificial intelligence. It can provide an immersive learning experience, while offering L&D leaders deeper and more effective skills evaluation tools. You get the answers to the most difficult questions like “who in my organization best fits the skills required for this new open position, what are the gaps, and can we close them through learning?”

LE-AP helps businesses ease learning for the employee, at their choice of place and time, making the entire ecosystem revolves around the learner, rather than the other way around.
