LeapXpert Raises $180 Million In Growth Funding Round

LeapXpert, a New York-based provider of governed communication intelligence and compliance solutions for enterprise messaging, announced a $180 million growth funding round.

LeapXpert’s $180 round was led by Riverwood Capital, with participation from existing investor Portage Ventures. Jeff Parks, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Riverwood Capital, joined the board of directors. This represents a significant capital infusion for the company, which had previously raised around $50-56 million across earlier rounds (including a $20 million Series B in January 2025 led by Portage).

What is LeapXpert?

Founded in 2017 by Dima Gutzeit (CEO) and Avi Pardo (CBO), LeapXpert addresses the challenges of “off channel” communications, business interactions occurring on consumer apps like WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal, WeChat, Telegram, SMS, LINE, and RCS, which often bypass enterprise controls.

Its platform enables:

  • Governance and compliance: Real time policy enforcement, information barriers, supervision, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) directly at the communication point.
  • Capture and recordkeeping: Immutable archiving of messages for regulatory compliance, eDiscovery, and surveillance, integrated with systems like Microsoft Teams and Slack.
  • Intelligence layer: AI powered features (via LeapXpert Intelligence, Signals, Maxen client intelligence app, and Communication Workflows) that transform captured conversations into actionable insights, relationship context, and automated actions.

LeapXpert leadership team: Stephane Mehat (CFO), Caroline Eldar (Head of Legal), and Adam Stone (VP of AI Product).

The solution supports both governed modes on personal/corporate devices and integrates broadly with enterprise environments. It targets industries with high stakes client communications: financial services (core focus for compliance), public sector/government (FOIA readiness, FedRAMP progress), and Fortune 500/non regulated enterprises (data ownership and intelligence).

LeapXpert has achieved strong recognition, including being named a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Communications Governance & Archiving (DCGA) for two consecutive years, Deloitte Technology Fast 500 (with 334% revenue growth in one period), and the Financial Times’ 2026 list of fastest growing companies in the Americas.

It serves hundreds of enterprise customers (including major financial institutions and government agencies) with hundreds of thousands of users across 45+ countries.

This growth round (sometimes framed in coverage as multi stage) signals a shift from earlier venture stages focused on product market fit and initial scaling to aggressive expansion amid rising demand. Riverwood Capital, focused on AI powered proven growth technology companies scaling from tens to hundreds of millions in revenue, brings operational expertise for the next phase.

Proceeds will fund:

  • Deepening AI and conversational intelligence capabilities.
  • Accelerating sales into financial services, public sector, and broader Forbes Global 2000 markets.
  • Expanding the senior leadership team.

The timing aligns with maturing regulatory pressures and the AI opportunity in enterprise data.

The core problem, off-channel communications, has driven billions in regulatory fines (e.g., SEC/CFTC actions exceeding $2-3 billion since 2021 for recordkeeping failures on apps like WhatsApp). Regulators demand capture, archiving, and supervision of business communications regardless of channel, while employees and clients prefer modern messaging for speed and relationships.

LeapXpert positions itself at the intersection of compliance necessity and strategic opportunity: turning governed conversation data into intelligence. The evolution described by investors (from archiving, to governance, to AI driven value extraction) mirrors broader enterprise trends in unstructured data monetization.

Growth tailwinds include:

  • Persistent regulatory enforcement and expectations (DOJ, SEC, FINRA, global equivalents).
  • BYOD and hybrid work realities.
  • AI advancements making captured data far more valuable.
  • Expansion beyond financial services into government and general enterprise.

The DCGA category itself is gaining formal recognition, with LeapXpert differentiated by broad channel coverage, real time capabilities, and intelligence features.

The capital provides runway to solidify leadership in a high barrier category, invest heavily in AI differentiation, and scale globally/vertically. With prior revenue acceleration and a path toward profitability noted in earlier rounds, this round supports category creation and infrastructure layer positioning. The partnership with Riverwood validates the shift toward conversation data as a strategic asset.

Large growth rounds in enterprise infrastructure/compliance tech reflect confidence in sustained demand. The involvement of sophisticated growth investors like Riverwood (with deep operational experience) suggests expectations of significant scaling potential.

Competition in archiving/governance (e.g., other DCGA players), execution on AI roadmap, data privacy/sovereignty challenges across jurisdictions, and potential saturation in core financial services. Success hinges on seamless integration, low friction user adoption, and demonstrable ROI beyond compliance (via intelligence features).

This funding underscores LeapXpert’s momentum in solving a persistent, high cost enterprise pain point while capitalizing on the AI wave to unlock new value from communications data. It positions the company for broader market leadership as enterprises prioritize governed, intelligent client interactions.
