Q: What is Calmy?
A: CALMY is a storyteller device with a twist! It offers audio stories, calming sounds, and light ambiances perfectly adapted to kids of all ages.
Its user interface is incredibly easy to use thanks to a big color touch screen.
We created Calmy to help kids:
• boost their imagination and creativity,
• foster their curiosity,
• make them discover new worlds, cultures and adventures,
• improve their memory and concentration,
• cool down and control their emotions,
• get ready for a better sleep.

Q: The Calmy Kickstarter campaign launched on Nov. 10; can you tell us something more?
A: In 2016, we launched our first product on Kickstarter, the Octopus Watch v1. The Kickstarter community was fantastic. We received a ton of valuable feedback that we tried to include in the final product as much as possible.
Kickstarter is also a way for us to validate our product / market fit, i.e. gauge if the value-proposition makes sense to our audience.
And last but not least, it’s a way to finance a portion of the costs of launching the product. As you may know, the R&D, prototype development, software/firmware coding, supply-chain organization, production lines, logistics, customer support and reverse-logistic, marketing and all the costs associated with running the company, are extremely expensive. The money from the Kickstarter pre-orders is very helpful.
Naturally, we decided to launch our new product Calmy on Kickstarter. After one week, we made $100,000 in pre-orders.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your products?
A: In these difficult times where stress and anxiety are at an all-time high, Calmy is a touchscreen storyteller device that provides soothing stories, calming sounds, and light ambiances for kids of all ages, making bedtime more peaceful and easing restless minds.

Q: What can we expect from JOY Familytech in the next 6 months?
A: We are working on the new generation of our best-seller product, the Octopus Watch (the training wheels for good habits). The user interface will be entirely revamped to be easier to use, and we’ll add new sensors to monitor the stress level of children in real-time.
