Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Custom Comet?
A: Custom Comet is a custom merchandise company founded in 2016 and based in Portland, Oregon. We create premium products for businesses, charities, organizations, and artists around the world. They are used both for promotional purposes and in the retail market.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your products?
A: When I say premium, I really mean premium products. There are a ton of places where you can buy run-of-the-mill custom merchandise. These mostly involve automated systems and the cheapest materials the manufacturer can use. We go the other route. If we’re going to make a custom lapel pin, it’s going to be the highest quality lapel pin you can buy.
For example, our biggest sellers right now are custom air fresheners. While most companies give you a set of template shapes to work from, ours are completely custom. They are die-cut to any shape, use 2mm paper (most use 1mm), and printed at 300dpi. Not only do we price them around the same price as competitors, but we offer lower minimum qualities for artists or small businesses who would like to test things out.
But what really separates us is the art. As I mentioned, this is not an automated system where you upload some images and hope it turns out nice. Every piece of art goes through our talented graphic design team led by our President Jessica Marshall. That means we can help you with changes or just touching up an image to ensure it is perfect. We do this free of charge because we don’t think you should have to have advanced knowledge in design to create something special.
Right now our focus has been on adding a product and perfecting the process. Then adding another one. We currently sell custom air fresheners, coasters, drink sleeves, lapel pins, stickers, and embroidered patches.
Q: What is your ideal client and why?
A: Anyone looking to make a great impression on clients or customers. Whether you’re a large business who needs a promotional product that can wow people at a convention or a small artist looking to sell items with your artwork on an Etsy store.
Q: What’s the best thing about Custom Comet that people might not know about?
A: We take our commitment to charitable causes seriously. When we started, there was the realization that our products consume paper. To counter that, we teamed up with an organization called One Tree Planted. With each order a customer makes, Custom Comet plants a tree.
Next year will be the first year that we offer a scholarship for those attending college in the United States. While the details haven’t been finalized, the scholarship will be for those entering the field of Arts.

A: New products will be the primary focus for the rest of the year. While our ownership team has decades of experience in the lapel pin industry, we have just now started offering them through the Custom Comet brand.
Besides lapel pins, we intend to add challenge coins and other metal products. We are looking into custom matchbooks as well.
