Below is our recent interview with Andrew Lamping, CEO at Cyclone Social:
Q: Andrew, how would you describe Cyclone Social?
A: The way I describe Cyclone Social is as a marketing agency with a focus on social media. I say it that way because I think there are a lot of misperceptions around social media. Ultimately, we are a marketing firm; we connect people with businesses through remarkable experiences that build loyalty and maintain trust. Cyclone Social is a team of inspired and loyal experts working with clients who inspire us. We commit to our clients to never remain in the box, always innovate, and continually create remarkable experiences. If you are willing to win, then we are willing to work for you.
Q: Can you give us insights into your services?
A: We broke Cyclone Social down into four major focus areas: Creative, Community Management, Brand Advocacy, and Advertising. Ultimately, when a company decides to hire a social media manager, they are generally asking that person to do all four of those roles. I say it all the time, but every little boy wants a swiss army knife, yet when he goes to screw something in, he grabs a screwdriver. Specialists are better than general practitioners, so we built a team of specialists. We have a creative team of full-time videographers, graphic artists, and photographers. Our community management team is analytics-focused and they spend their time understanding times, trends and traction – when to post, why to post, how to drive sales. In our Brand Advocacy team we have influencer marketing specialists as well as social media customer service professionals. Finally, our advertising team is specialized and tasked with building sales funnels to deliver targeted advertising campaigns to the right audiences on behalf of our clients.
Our services are broad, but also stay within the tight scope of social media. Ultimately, companies realize they can hire a full-time social media manager or hire Cyclone Social for the same cost. Our clients are hiring us to become the outsourced social media agency for their company and we are able to provide 20+ high-skilled professionals for the same cost of one full-time “swiss army knife” employee.

Q: What makes you stand out from your competition?
A: Besides our approach to managing social media (identified in the above question), we have two things that we do that makes us a bit unique. 1) we don’t bring on direct competitors as clients. Our job is to make our clients number one in their industry. If we bring on two clients who are competing, we can never accomplish that goal for at least one of those clients. 2) we shake hands, we don’t force our clients to sign contracts. It’s our job to earn their business every day. We put our money where our mouth is as we shake their hands and deliver results.
Q: Who are the primary clients of Cyclone Social and what are some of the key challenges you are helping them solve?
A: We work with clients in many different industries. We have done work with large national restaurant chains, national real estate brands, fitness centers, car dealership groups, law firms, dental practices, consulting firms, small ma and pop shops, and everything in between! When we work with these clients our goals align with the business goals of the company – so things like sales growth, lead generation, brand awareness (as measured by brand recall rates), etc. We consistently measure results, report back, and strategize with the client to maximize results.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: We are growing rapidly. Each year we have nearly tripled the size of our business (for 5 years straight), and we don’t plan on slowing down. We are looking into some new markets for locations. We are also currently pursuing some large national accounts that will allow us to increase our national footprint.Activate Social Media:
