Below is our recent interview with Madlen Schuster, from INTRANAV:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: INTRANAV, an Inpixon company, is a Germany-based industrial real-time location system and automation company specializing in advanced location-aware technologies to help organizations realize the benefits of Industry 4.0 including smart factories, smart warehouses, virtual manufacturing, paperless factories, virtual yard management, and digital supply chains. INTRANAV’s flagship offering is its enterprise-class, multi-technology, RTLS IoT platform, INTRANAV.IO, which can consume, process, and present data from nearly any other device or system. INTRANAV’s INTRALYTICS data-analytics software and INTRANAV.APP mobile and desktop apps complement the IoT platform. INTRANAV also offers a line of proprietary smart sensors including the tags for driverless transport systems, automated guided vehicles, smart pallets and more that can utilize UWB, RFID, GPS, Wi-Fi, and LTE cellular. Additional offerings with partners add NFC, BLE, Wirepas Massive capabilities to the offering.

INTRANAV was founded in 2014 by Ersan Günes and Gonzalo Ibarra with the vision to optimize processes and workflows in production and logistics using intelligent sensors and networks. Once launched, INTRANAV’s mandate to track production lines and warehouses in real-time using low-cost micro indoor location sensors and to optimize the associated processes with the help of state-of-the-art software was well received by the industry.

INTRANAV’s customers include major companies with annual sales in the billions of euros such as Siemens Energy, TB International, Festo, PERI, as well as international industry pioneers in the fields of agricultural and construction machinery, aerospace, intralogistics and manufacturing companies.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Great potential through the synergies of the companies and product portfolios of Inpixon and INTRANAV enables integration of Indoor Intelligence solutions with the RTLS IoT platform for digitization and automation of processes in the industry.

INTRANAV will bring new, comprehensive products and technologies, and a broad IP portfolio to strengthen the established RTLS product line of Inpixon. Importantly, with INTRANAV’s IoT platform, Inpixon will be connected to the end user for industrial solutions, much like Inpixon´s CXApp connects users through Inpixon´s corporate workplace solution, enabling Inpixon to deliver the exceptional experiences that power smart factories, smart warehouses, and smart corporate campuses.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: With the help of digital twins of relevant process objects, such as goods, containers and forklifts, processes are digitized and mapped. Through this workflow virtualization, work streams can be automated. Important data sources are real-time positioning data from various technologies such as:

Ultra-Wideband (UWB) for indoor positioning up to +/- 10cm
Wirepas Massive (BLE Mesh)
GPS precise
RFID/NFC
LiDAR information sources

Using the multi-technology capable INTRANAV.IO platform, nearly any technology data sources can be connected and processed. The real-time location and sensor data can be used for continuous automation such as

Load carrier management
Route optimization of forklifts and AGV/AMR

Supply chain transparency
Inbound & outbound logistics

The process data collected and generated with INTRANAV.RTLS and INTRANAV.IO platform can be incredibly valuable to customers. The add-on module INTRALYTICS helps them to visualize and interpret this data. Customers can adapt their own cloud analytics tools such as PowerBI, SAP or Tableau to INTRALYTICS to build their own dashboards.

With the INTRANAV.APP portfolio, based on the INTRANAV.IO Digital Twin platform, customers can succeed in optimizing and ensuring the optimal supply of their transport flows holistically. End-to-end supply-chain process and planning transparency as well as partial automation based on reliable real-time data are the solution to uncover transport flow bottlenecks, to obtain planning and execution reliability and to analyze and understand detailed correlations of historical data through real-time reports.

Via a REST API, customers integrate INTRANAV data sources with nearly any industry-relevant ERP or MES system, enabling companies to identify necessary process optimization potential and make data-driven decisions. Partners of INTRANAV include global companies like SAP, Wirepas, and German Edge Cloud (GEC).

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: We have some exciting Inpixon-INTRANAV product integrations underway that will enhance the Inpixon Indoor Intelligence portfolio with IIoT RTLS which we look forward to announcing to the market in the near future.

Longer term, the company plans to launch new, innovative products made possible by the acquisition which are designed to solve tough customer problems and to be leaders in their categories.

Further deepening the cloud edge business with our partnership with the German Edge Cloud. INTRANAV.RTLS plans for its applications to run with the edge cloud-centric ONCITE industrial IoT appliance practically in real-time and with minimal delay times, based on ONCITE solutions. Furthermore, as an industrial IoT appliance centred on the edge cloud, it will permit the operation of edge and cloud-based infrastructure solutions, as well as the services needed for hardware, software and the platform.
