Below is our recent interview with Oleksandr Matiienko, CEO at MotoPress:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your business?
A: Sure, MotoPress has been creating various products for WordPress for 10+ years. As you might know, and as the stats confirm, WordPress is the most popular site builder in the world, powering 43.2% of all the websites on the net. Even this Superbcrew website is powered by WordPress!
These days, our main focus is on booking solutions for WordPress. With how crowded the WordPress ecosystem has become, having a clear direction really matters.
Over the years, we’ve built a range of tools that make booking on WordPress easier – from hotel booking to appointment scheduling and event management. At the moment, when people talk about MotoPress, they normally mean our 3 booking plugins: Hotel Booking, Appointment Booking, and Booking Calendar.
We’ve also invested in both major WordPress builders: Getwid (content building blocks for the native WordPress editor), and Stratum add-ons for Elementor, which still remains incredibly popular. We also provide a great event scheduler plugin that allows building public schedules (calendar or list) that look awesome, including for recurring events. So, if you’re an NGO, community organization, or school, MotoPress has your scheduling needs covered too.

Q: What makes you the best choice? How are you unique?
A: In WordPress, many companies provide just utilities. We offer a lineup of tailor-made solutions for any booking scenario, rental period, or size of portfolio, so we’re pretty business-fueled.
Besides that, to complement our plugins (or “software,” as people outside the WordPress world might call them), we’ve also created a collection of WordPress themes (designs) that pair perfectly with them. This way, we’re offering users a complete ecosystem right out of the box instead of just standalone products.
Q: Who is your ideal client and why?
A: To put it simply, our ideal clients are anyone who needs to take online bookings on WordPress: hotels, vacation rentals, campgrounds, rental stores, activity agencies, tour guides, etc. Beauty salons, schools, and coaches also rely on our tools for hourly appointments.
We also work closely with WordPress design and development agencies that build websites for clients in these niches. They’re a big part of our customer base – especially since they benefit from exclusive discounts when purchasing product bundles or subscribing to our memberships.

Q: What can we expect from you in the next 12 months? What are your plans?
A: A couple of years ago, we decided to take things a step further and test the waters in the SaaS space – you know, everything is possible with a WordPress-based product! Using our own WordPress Hotel Booking plugin on a multisite setup (a bit like how WordPress.com works), we built a platform that lets users embed sleek booking forms on any website no matter the CMS. Now, many sites on Wix and GoDaddy, for example, use our booking widget, mainly vacation rental owners and smaller property managers. We want to focus on this product more in the years to come.
So, we build sustainable products for WordPress keeping them niche-focused, and we also look outside WordPress to bring our products into new environments. At the same time, we’re experimenting with AI tools and mobile apps to expand what we offer. Follow us on social media to stay in the loop and see how we progress!
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: While MotoPress’s primary focus is on WordPress booking plugins, we’ve always been more than that. We’re a small, multi-concept marketplace with many inspiration-driven products!
Over time, we’ve introduced a variety of creative solutions to the world. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we developed a range of delivery-focused eCommerce designs. We also built an outstanding portfolio of themes for photographers and illustrators, created in collaboration.
