Below is our recent interview with Paul Chambers, Co-Founder and CEO at SUBTA:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: The Subscription Trade Association (SUBTA) is the first and only trade association serving the subscription commerce economy. Subscription starts with SUBTA.
We offer expert resources and support for the ever-growing community of innovators, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and dedicated teams that are eager to shift, scale or start their businesses in this space. Launched in 2017 and based in Michigan, SUBTA’s mission is to provide a network and resources to help nurture the largest community in direct-to-consumer subscriptions. We also lead the industry’s largest conference, SubSummit.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your recent speaker and Hosted Buyer Program announcement?
A: There is a lot of anticipation building up around this year’s SubSummit, and rightfully so! Hundreds of attendees will join us to learn from an amazing speaker lineup we’re putting together.
I’m very proud to announce that Kimberly Lewis of CurlMix, Inc. will join us in June to discuss the deal she refused to make on Shark Tank, and why it paid off for her business! You’ll also hear from Jacob Brown, Anthony Napolitano, Luke Maroney and Lindsey Palmer on a range of topics — from PR efforts to shifting your entrepreneurial mindset, there’s a session for all kinds of subscriptionpreneurs this year. This big event is happening June 1-3 this year in Orlando, Fla..
Our 2022 Hosted Buyer Program is an annual initiative I’m very excited about, offering a chance for subscriptions to earn a free in-person ticket. It allows pre-qualified merchants — those who are generating more than $1 million in revenue — to meet with sponsoring suppliers in a 1-on-1 setting and create meaningful, long-lasting partnerships that will help both businesses grow. Approved merchants will also receive up to $500 USD reimbursement in airfare and hotel stay.
Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: For SUBTA, this year is all about growing the community in a meaningful way. We know that subscriptions will continue to integrate into even more aspects of our lives. Everything we do is designed to support the people that work so hard to create impactful businesses in this space.
Every year, we learn more about what it takes to run a subscription business. SUBTA members and partnerships will continue to evolve as these businesses do. No matter where companies are at with their recurring revenue model — prelaunch, looking to scale or an enterprise-level business adding a subscription component — SUBTA and SubSummit cultivate a beneficial network to help these organizations meet their objectives.
Our biggest focus right now is producing SubSummit and working to ensure the community has everything they need to be successful. There are so many stories and insights from the people accomplishing unbelievable things in this industry; we are doing our best to listen to every detail so we can continue to foster a world-class community. Ultimately, all of these learnings will come together to help us create even more support for these rapidly changing businesses.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: Everything the SUBTA team does comes from a place of passion. SUBTA and SubSummit both began with our desire to connect with subscriptionprenuers who are eager to learn and break barriers within their respective verticals. No matter how much subscriptions innovate, the importance of connection and passionate people will always be there. The SUBTA team has become personally invested in the stories behind so many of these brands, and we get excited and motivated by every opportunity we are presented with to take the industry to the next level. I’m proud to say that SUBTA is able to empower thousands of businesses to unlock their full potential. The future of the subscription world is bright and we’re here to help move that mission forward.Activate Social Media:
