Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to DEVCON?
A: The event is Miami’s inaugural emerging technology DevCon that bridges the gap between AI, Blockchain, Reality, Smart Cities & Impact. The hybrid (virtual/physical) conference will tackle creating solutions to the supply chains impacted by the Coronavirus through AI and Technology by bringing together great minds to not only discuss today’s issues but actively work on creating the solutions on the spot during the event. It also provides an opportunity for us to leverage emerging technology to enhance connection via virtual experience.

Q: What are the benefits of attending the event?
A: Learn from & Network with Blockchain, IoT, AI & Investment leaders during panels, workshops & special events. The largest benefit now is the ability to participate virtually, which means we can provide access to the event to many more people, not just those who were formally going to attend live in Miami in April. This means that the impact we can positively create is much more scalable as the audience can be larger and create more opportunities for quality connections to happen in more diverse ways.
Q: Who is attending and what can we expect from speakers?
A: We have a diverse group of attendees and speakers joining us. A recent partnership with Akon of Akoin is bringing more interest from the blockchain/crypto space as well as Smart Cities interest. Speakers will be both virtual and physically onsite which will provide an interesting embodiment of the hybrid experience we are going for in the world of a pandemic. You can expect an eye opening line up of workshops which include Development with Augmented Reality, Avatars & Artificial Intelligence as well as panels from industry leaders on topics such as Blockchain + FinTech: The Rise of DeFi (Decentralized Finance), Smart Cities & Sustainability, and Emerging Tech and Venture Capital: Investing in Industry 4.0.

Q: Do you see blockchain technology as a global game changer and why?
A: Absolutely. A few reasons for this, decentralized finance, cross border payments & banking the world’s unbanked (the number is around 2 billion people currently). These together bring more people into the global economy and allow for financial exchange to take place.
Q: Can you give us any hints as to what else we might expect to see from DEVCON this year?
A: This year, Devcon is really taking a stand for bringing people together by whatever means possible. We are a Developer conference about bridging the gap between emerging tech & reality, which means in today’s times, we need to live that by providing exciting virtual participation options for those who want to be a part of Devcon but are not feeling like travel is the right plan for them. We will be leveraging the great emerging technologies of our speakers, sponsors & attendees to provide unique experiential opportunities, giveaways & lots of high quality interactivity for Miami Devcon participants.
